I love you, I miss you

I love you.

Sunbeam brushed across soft skin reveal the gentle contours of your face

Warm eyes closed and thick eyelashes fanned over freckled cheeks

Content sighs falling like petals from perfect lips onto the fluffy blanket

Laying in silent conversation until you open your eyes

I miss you.

Cold sunlight harsh against an extra pillow that still holds the scent of shampoo

Empty space now filled with icy air and cruel realization

Once happy sighs now filled to the brim with regret and defeat

Getting out of bed as soon as I wake

Because every second spent alone there reminds me that you aren't coming back.

And it's my fault.
