"Where's daddy?" An adorable baby girl looked innocently up at Remus. He softly wiped a tear from his own eye. They were gone, all his friends dead, or in Azkaban.

He looked down at the little girl who now had tears silently escaping down her cheek. Her parents weren't coming back, Remus was all she had. And she was all he had left.

14 YEARS LATER
RILEY'S POV

I felt someone slowly shaking me. "What do you want" I sleepily whispered. I opened my eyes and saw Remus staring down at me with his disapproving look. "Riley you slept in again. You need to be more responsible, get up we have to leave soon."

"Wait, how about a good morning?" I asked jokingly knowing he was already annoyed with me. Remus walked over and placed a soft kiss on my forehead giving me a hug.

"Sorry Ry I'm just nervous about coming to Hogwarts" he spoke rubbing my back.

"I already know everyone will love you now get out so I can change" I laughed.

"Alright I'll see you downstairs in five minutes exactly" Remus said.

Remus had given up everything just for me, half of his money goes towards me, he jokes I'm high maintenance. I just wish he would tell me about my father. Every time I bring it up he shuts my down and I hate it. One time I asked to meet my dad, and I swear I've never seen anyone so angry in my life. But I love Rem like a father and nothing could take that away.

I slowly pulled on some black ripped jean and a soft hoodie, Remus has already packed away my trunk and had decided to take the train with the students to Hogwarts.

We arrived at the platform, I saw Harry Potter walking along side the Weasleys and I felt a jolt of annoyance shoot through me. I wasn't his biggest fan, everything was about him, I almost enjoyed when snape called him out in class, seeing that I also hated Snape.

Cedric Diggory walked over to me and Rem with his dad. He gave me a big smile and warm hug.

"And there's my favourite Gryffindor, " Cedric laughed.

"Hey Ced can we sit together on the train" I asked

"What Ry I thought we were sitting together?" Remus joked

I rolled my eyes and laughed Cedric's dad gave me a quick hug and kissed Cedric's forehead saying goodbye. Rem gave my hand a squeeze and said he will see me tonight.
