Coffee stood by the kitchen's entrance and watched as you chatted with a fellow Cooking Attendant by the counter. He couldn't help but feel a twinge of envy when the Cooking Attendant offered a small bouquet of red tulips to you. That action made your cheeks turn red out of shyness.

He could do it too, but he knew he wouldn't receive the same reaction from you. With a sigh, Coffee turned around and headed back into the kitchen with a heavy heart.

He knew humans, and food souls were not meant to be together. The food souls will always outlive the humans. Of course, he wanted to spend every second he could with you. But if you loved someone else, then it couldn't be helped.

"Coffee!!" You called out to him, walking towards him with the small bouquet of tulips. He stopped and turned around to face you, a smile on his lips. He couldn't interfere with your love life, no matter how much he wanted too.

"Is there something you need, Master Attendant?"

"Things are going along great with Markus and me," you said with a bright smile as you hugged the bouquet to your chest. Coffee's smile faltered a bit while you continued, "He asked me out on a date tonight too!" You were very excited about the date with that Cooking Attendant.

Your smile disappeared when you noticed how quiet Coffee was. "Coffee? Is something wrong?" You set the bouquet down on a nearby stool and walked up to him. You've never seen him this quiet before. "Are you running a fever?" You asked as you placed a hand on his forehead, feeling his temperature.

Coffee pulled away from his thoughts when he became aware of how close you were. He then closed his eyes and enjoyed the warmth that came from your hand. He could savor this feeling all day, but he knew he didn't have that privilege. Your heart belonged to another.

Gently grabbing your hand, he pulled away from you. "I'm fine, Master Attendant," he reassured you. "You should be more worried about that date you have tonight," he winked at you from behind his shades.

You stared at him hard, judging whether he was telling you the truth or not. "You sure you don't want me to go and get Milk or Tiramisu? They should have something that can heal you."

He let out a small sigh before he placed a hand on your head, petting you gently. "Master Attendant, I assure you I am in good health." He didn't want you worrying over him just because of this. He can handle it on his own.

Leaning forward, he pressed a butterfly kiss on your forehead. "I'm supposed to be worrying about you. Rest assured, I will take care of you for as long as you shall live."

A light blush appeared on your cheeks at his words. You knew you couldn't live as long as he could and you felt grateful that he would be by your side even though you'll be old.

"Thank you, Coffee. But if you do need help, don't be afraid to call out to me or any of the others okay?"

"Understood, Master Attendant."

As you walked away from him with the bouquet in hand, Coffee stared at your back. He wanted to reach out to you and tell you his true feelings, but he couldn't bring himself to do it. It was better to let you be with a normal human.

"Hey Coffee?" He was shaken from his thoughts once again by the sound of your voice. You had turned back to look at him with a light blush on your cheeks, "You... don't mind if you help me pick out something for my date, do you?"

He let out a small chuckle before he walked towards you, gently taking the bouquet from your hands. "I don't mind. I'll make sure you look your very best for him~." He might as well appreciate every second he gets to spend with you, even if it's just simple matters.
