Requested by Me~

(So it's ghost month for me now~ and I had an idea for everyone's favorite Brownie. Enjoy the one-shot!)

"You know... We can't play hide and seek during August," Mooncake said with a grin, holding a torchlight just beneath her chin.

She had mostly all the younger and pure looking food souls to sit with her in the lounge room. Once she had guided them all in, she closed the door and flicked off the lights, making them jump.

The Double scoop twins hugged each other, Taiyaki and Dorayaki hugged each other, Jiuniang was shaking in her jacket, Jello clutched her hair, Tom Yum fidgeted around with the string tying his boxing gloves together, and Brownie maintained his expressionless demeanor.

W-why can't we play?" Jiuniang gathered up her courage to ask, the other food souls nodding to her question.

Mooncake let out an ominous laugh before she turned off the flashlight. She slowly stood up and threw a sheet over herself and stood on the couch, turning the light back on. "That's because ghosts are everywhere!" She exclaimed, making the huggers jump. "For example, if you hide in that corner... you can never make it out cause the ghosts would be cornering you. Like this!"

She daringly jumped off the couch and went to cage Tom Yum with her arms. Brownie flinched as the others let out small shrieks. "And they'll never let you leave! You'll be trapped there until the month is over!"

Mooncake jumped when the door opened, and the lights were turned on, revealing Yellow Wine standing at the door. "You're screwed." He growled out before he poked his head back out the door, "Master Attendant! I found them!" Jiuniang wasted no time in getting up to her feet and clinging to one of his arms.

You raced towards the Lounge and bumped into Yellow Wine when you came to a stop at the door. "Mooncake! What did you do to them!? They look traumatized!" You stated before marching into the room and hugging Taiyaki and Dorayaki, both who started clinging to you.

"Ahh, it was just a story Master Attendant. Nothing creepy," You gave Mooncake an unconvincing stare before you turned to look at Brownie, "Brownie, can you help me get them downstairs? I need to have a small talk with Mooncake...again."

Brownie nodded to your request before he started to lead the others out, with some help from Yellow Wine.

As you started to lecture Mooncake, the others gathered downstairs. Brownie and Tom Yum were sitting by themselves while the sibling groups were sitting together, sharing looks only siblings would understand. "Hey, guys..." Taiyaki said, getting up from the chair she sat on. "Why not we play hide-and-seek just to prove Mooncake wrong?"

"That... is the worst idea I've ever heard!" Tom Yum exclaimed with his arms crossed as he glared at Taiyaki, who now had a small smirk on her lips.

"What's wrong Tom Yum? Scared?~ It's probably nothing! Knowing Mooncake, she probably just pranked us." She said confidently as the other siblings nodded, getting up from their seats and all ready to play.

Tom Yum was at a loss for words before he turned to look back at Brownie, wanting someone to back him up in this. Brownie rubbed his chin in thought before smiling lightly, "Why not we play the game? It might be just a story after all,"

And just like that, they were all now playing rock-paper-scissors to decide who gets to be 'it' and the chosen one was, ironically, Tom Yum. "He's it! Come on, let's go and hide!" Brownie didn't follow the others and decided to head off on his own. He sneaked into one of the storage rooms and one peek into the dark room made him regret that decision.

Before he could back out though, the door closed behind him. "Oh no..." he mumbled to himself as he tried to push it open, but it wouldn't budge at all. "Okay don't panic, Brownie. That's not how a butler should act...Wait, I shouldn't have agreed with this game in the beginning!" As he paced back and forth in the storage, scolding himself, he heard a thud come from the corner of the room.

Instead of thinking about a reasonable thought, his mind thought back to Mooncake's words. "...ghosts would be cornering you, like this!" He then felt a breeze blow past him, triggering him to back up to one of the shelves. Sending the contents on it toppling down on to Brownie's head.

The contents were bags of potatoes and seeing as potatoes are pretty heavy, and that they landed on his head. Brownie let out a small groan of pain.

You rubbed the bridge of your nose as you walked down the stairs. You were a hundred percent sure that Mooncake had learned nothing from this lesson. Heading into the kitchen and searching through the cupboards, you found nothing to snack one. Halfway through your search, you heard a small thud come from inside the storage room.

"What in the world?" You asked yourself as you picked up a knife and slowly approached the storage room. You couldn't risk it. Who knows, maybe a fallen angel had gotten itself trapped in there? You pressed your ear up against the door and tried to listen to the sounds of someone gobbling up the food, but there were none. Instead, there were groans of pain.

It was clear that it wasn't a fallen angel. Pushing open the door, you peeked into the storage room and saw a silhouette crouched down by the shelves. You shut the door behind you before switching on the lights in the room. The figure turned out to be Brownie, who suddenly looked over at you with fear in his eyes.

"Master Attendant?... You're alive right?" He asked cautiously, backing away from you as you tilted your head in confusion.

"Why wouldn't I be? You only saw me like a few minutes ago," You reassured him you were still alive before he tackled you into a hug. "Woah! What's the matter Brownie? Why ask such a weird question?"

You could feel his tense body cling on to you, not letting go anytime soon. "It's just...Nothing. I just wanted to be close to you Master Attendant," He showed you a small smile. He was holding back a secret, and you know it. "Let's get out of the storage room. I'm sure the others are still looking for us,"

"Alright then! But Brownie, you could have gotten out on your own you know? You just needed to pull the door, not push it."

"...Master Attendant, a request. I request that we never speak of this little error." He said, his arms tightening around you while you giggled.

Brownie never stepped a foot into the storage room ever since.
