On the side is Sophia and Noor. Both of them...because they are twins...hehe :)
Sophia:
“Hurry up, Noor!” I yelled upstairs. Usually it was me who was late, but today I had gotten up early for some reason.
“Coming!” she yelled, then a few seconds later she came bounding down the stairs. We were going to the store to get school supplies for school which was starting tomorrow. This was the first year we were going to a real school. Last year, Dad had home schooled us, and the year before that we hadnt ever gone to school. I was looking forward to it. It would be something normal that I had never done before, and it sounded exciting.
“Alright kids, lets head out,” Dad said, opening the door. We piled into his car and drove away.
We spent more than an hour at the store, getting all the best supplies. Dad let us buy anything we wanted. He was really nice to us and since he was young, maybe thirty years old, he could understand what it was like to be a teenager. Soon we were heading home. At home, me and Noor immediately headed up to our separate rooms which were right next to each other. In mine, everything was purple. In hers, everything was yellow and light green. Even though we were twins, we were still really different. She had more trouble finding friends, and trusting people, while I found it easy to talk to others. I always tried to help her out though.
“So, are you guys ready for school tomorrow?” Dad asked, standing in the doorway of my room.
“Yup! I cant wait!” I said excitedly, bouncing on the bed.
Noor, in the other room shouted, “Hopefully I’ll survive.”
“Oh come on,” Dad said, looking back at her. “You're braver than that. I know you are.” Noor sighed and flopped down on the bed.
“Yeah, but what if the people don't like me?” she asked, looking at the ceiling. I moved into her room and hopped onto the bed so hard that Noor bounced up too.
“Noor, everyone will like you,” I said confidently.
“Really?” she asked, looking at me. I nodded.
“Yup.”
“Thanks Sophia. You’re the best,” Noor said, grinning at me. I smiled modestly.
“I know.”
The next day, I stood in front of the mirror staring at my reflection, hoping that the other students would like me. I had long dark brown hair that ended a little below my waist, and large brown eyes. I looked exactly like Noor, except that I had much longer hair than her. Her hair went to her shoulders. I had tried to get her to grow it out, but she would always end up cutting it. I wanted to keep mine long because of the many memories that came with it. I also wore makeup while she didn't. She despised make up. I had just started using it a little while ago when Dad had adopted us. I had never been allowed to wear it before then.
A few minutes later, Dad drove us to school. We stood in front of the doors, staring up at the huge walls. Other kids swarmed around us, bumping and pushing us as they tried to get inside. One boy shoved me so hard, I fell into Noor and we both shot him a dirty look but he didn't notice. We made our way to the office and got our schedules from the secretary. We compared schedules and Noors face fell.
