Noor:

I flopped onto the bed, fuming at Sophia. I was thinking of some particularly evil ways to get her back when I noticed a paper on my side table. Picking it up, I saw that it was the road map I had all the places I wanted to visit marked in green marker on it. In black marker Sophia had written “X-Buried Treasure” everywhere in random places. I threw it at the wall and hoped Sophia had heard the thump in her room. I remembered all the good times we had and had a sudden flashback:

We were in an elevator in the mall, just going up and down over and over again because we were bored. A few passengers stepped in and we started going down.

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!! WERE GOING TO DIE!!!” I yelled for no reason. The other passengers looked at me like I was crazy and scooted away from me. I grinned evilly at them and inched towards them. They pressed up against the wall. Then the door opened and they practically ran out the door. Then me and Sophia burst out laughing and we were still laughing when the next passengers got on.

I sighed, wishing the old Sophia was back. Then suddenly I had another flashback:

Sophia was talking to me in the grocery store. I don't remember what she was saying. I was picking up random items and putting them in people’s grocery carts when they weren’t looking. As I placed a triangle of cheese into someones cart, Sophia stopped talking.

“What are you doing?” she asked.

            “What?” I asked.

“You just put cheese in some poor lady’s cart,” Sophia said, watching as the women tried to control her four hyper toddlers.

“Yeah, so?” I said, grabbing a box of cookies and tossing it into a guy’s cart.

“Noor!”  Sophia went to grab the cookies, but the guy turned around and shot her an venomous glare. She backed away and I snickered, covering it up as a cough when Sophia glared at me. Then she sighed and cracked a smile.

I sighed too. To distract myself, I pulled out my phone and noticed that Jasper had sent me a message while I was lost in memories.

“Wait for me in the morning before school 2morrow” Jasper had written.

            “I cant” I told him.

“Y not?” Jasper wrote back in only a few seconds. Did he always have his phone turned on just waiting for someone to text him?

            “Sophia doesnt believe me”

            “No big surprise” Jasper wrote.

            “Can you talk to her?”

“That will probably only make it worse”

I threw my phone at the wall in frustration.  Couldn’t he just turn invisible in front of her?  I didn’t get Jasper sometimes.  I didn’t get Sophia either.  I didn’t get my life.  Why did I have to be the one Death was after?  I was always the one in trouble.  It wasn’t fair.  I went to pick up my phone to text someone else and noticed the screen was cracked.  Great.  Now I would have to explain to Jerry.  It still seemed to work though, there was just the big crack in the middle of the screen.
