Drew:

“Omigod hi!” I heard Noor exclaim.  Or it could have been Sophia, but I highly doubted it.  I turned around and sure enough, Noor was rushing towards me with her arms wide open.  Before I could react, she trapped me in her embrace, with my arms stuck to my sides.  I chuckled and squeezed out of her arms, and took a good look at her.  She was wearing the same blue dress I had seen her in the other day.  I was surprised she had even put it on again.  She noticed me looking at her dress and blushed.  “I don’t like it...” she said, gesturing towards it.

“Too bad, cuz I do,” I said, grinning cheekily at her.  She rolled her eyes and shifted her gaze to something behind me, which suddenly turned serious.  I turned to see what she was looking at so intently.  There was nothing but a few tables set up under the clear blue sky barely visible through the thin white cloth hanging over us.  It was a pretty small, personal wedding.  I gave her a questioning look.

“I thought I saw...nothing, nothing,” she said shaking her head and turning back to me.

           “What?”

"Well...I thought I saw Drake, but I was probably imagining it.  They have, like, top security here.  Right?  I’m just being paranoid,” she said with a unsure wave of her hand.  But I knew that it was completely possible for Drake to sneak in without anyone knowing.  I made a mental note to myself to keep a close eye on Noor.  As if I didn’t already, I thought to myself.

“Yeah,” I said, not wanting to worry her.  “It’ll be okay...”  I wasn’t sure if I was reassuring myself or Noor.  “How was the hospital?”

Noor groaned.  “TERR-I-BLE,” she said, breaking up the word.  “They wouldn’t leave me alone.  ‘Noor, are you okay?  Noor, do you have a headache?  Noor, are you alive?!’  Geez, they wouldn’t just leave me alone.  It wasn’t anything bad in the first place.  Just a few cuts and bruises.  Except now almost every doctor in that place knows me cuz I go there so often.  I just...ugh.”  Noor ended her small rant by pounding her fist on the table then slouching into her seat.  I wasn’t sure what to say.

           “Sorry?”

           “Whatever.”

           “Where’s Sophia?” I suddenly asked.

“Why do you wanna know?” Noor replied ominously.

           “Cuz, why not?”

Noor sighed deeply.  “She’s in the bathroom fixing up her makeup.  I apparently smeared it, but it looked perfectly fine to me. She threw a fit about it the whole way here, and ran into the bathroom first thing with her purse in hand.”  Noor sighed dramatically again.  “Girls.”

“Well, your a girl too,” I said, smiling.  “Aren’t you?”

“I don’t get the whole thing with makeup, though.  I don’t wanna ruin my natural beauty, you know?  I wanna be me, and not have to deal with all the gooey garbage anyway.  I want people to know what I really look like.”
