Luke:
I quickly grabbed my bag from where it was lying on the floor. The teachers didn't lock their doors for some reason. I was afraid all the classrooms would be locked and we wouldn't be able to get our stuff until morning. I had my phone in my bag. It was very important to me. I quickly jogged through the empty halls, feeling a bit creeped out by the echoes echoing down the hall. I made it to the place where Jasper and Noor had gone down a hallway, and heard distant noises coming from it. I immediately thought of Drake. Without a second thought, I rushed down the hallway. My theory was right. Drake was standing in front of Jasper, who had pushed Noor behind him. They were talking to each other. I stopped at the corner and listened to them.
“Just leave her alone,” Jasper was saying. Drake laughed humorlessly.
“Leave her alone? I thought you had a better memory, Jasper,” he said, an obvious sneer in his voice.
“Yes, I do, because you didn’t erase my memory. Unlike Noor’s...” he trailed off pointedly.
“What are you talking about? Why would I ever do such a horrid thing?” Drake said with over-sincerity. There was a moment of silence in which I imagined the two of them simply glaring at each other.
“Drake?” I heard a small voice say. Noor.
“Yeah?” Drake said, trying to sound nice. It wasn’t working.
“Did you really erase my memory so that you could kill me more easily?” There was an awkward moment of silence that followed. Drake cleared his throat.
“I-”
“NOOR!” Drake was interrupted by a screaming Sophia. She came running from the hall that was the opposite direction from where I was standing so she saw me hiding against the corner, but she paid me no attention. Her glare was focused on Drake. “Get. Away. From. Her,” she said, breathing heavily with anger.
“I-”
“I don’t care what you wanna say, what she believes about you, or what you are even doing here, I just want you away from my sister.” With that, Sophia took Noor’s arm and dragged her towards the front doors of the school. Noor looked back worriedly towards Jasper and Drake, still not noticing me hiding against the corner. Jasper nodded encouragingly at her and she nodded back as if she was unsure before letting Sophia haul her out the doors. Even though Sophia could be extremely irritable, she seemed like a really loyal sister. I moved so that I could see Drake and Jasper.
Jasper turned back to Drake. They stood staring at each other for a few seconds, somewhat awkwardly, before Drake cleared his throat. “So is Luke still here? Getting his stuff?”
“Yeah, I think so. I’m pretty sure he was gonna wait for us in the front, but Sophia already left with Noor so...” Jasper trailed off, looking at the ground. I stayed quiet, feeling like something important was going to come up. My suspicions were confirmed. “Why do you want to kill her again?”
Drake sighed heavily. “Well, first of all, she was supposed to die a few years back. And-”
“Pro said it’s okay, that she can live.”
“Well I'm the death guy, remember? And I say that she has to die.”
“But why?” Jasper asked in a whiny voice. “What did she ever do to you?” I noticed Drake’s eyes shift to the ground.
