Luke:
We all stared at him in shock. Noor was the first one to break the silence. “So you knew us before?” Jasper cleared his throat, looking uncomfortable.
“Yeah, we were actually good friends,” he said, straightening his collar.
“We were? But I don’t remem- oh,” Sophia said, looking muddled. “But why did he want to erase our memories of that?”
“Reasons,” Jasper replied vaguely.
“What reasons?!” Sophia practically yelled at him. “Can you stop being so darn mysterious all the time and just tell us!” Jasper looked taken aback.
“Umm...I honestly don’t know. You’d have to ask Drake.”
“But that’s not happening, is it? I can see it in your eyes, you know why he wanted to erase our memories. In fact, I can see why he wanted to erase our minds. He had an argument with us, didn’t he?” Jasper stayed silent, so Sophia took this as a yes. She nodded to herself. “So now will you proceed to explain what this argument was about?” she asked, over-politely.
“Well, he was just mad that me and him aren’t as close as you two...” he said, looking between Noor and Sophia.
“Why would he want to be close to you like that? They’re twins, they are supposed to be that close. It’s only natural,” I said, saying something for the first time in a while. Then I remembered the conversation he had with Drake the other day. “Don’t you see? She always has her twin by her side, no matter what. She and Sophia are really really close. And me and you...you never agree with me.”
“Yeah...” Jasper said, looking at something in the distance. Just then the bell rang. Jasper jumped up immediately and left without another word. All of us stared at him as he left. Sophia got up then as well, and pulled Noor to her feet. I waited for someone to pull me to my feet as well, but when no one did, I just got up on my own.
“Well, something is definitely going on here,” Sophia said, almost angrily.
“Yeah, I think it doesn’t really matter though, I mean-”
“I think I know what he was talking about...” I said, cutting off Noor as the courtyard cleared up of other students.
“What is it then?” Sophia asked.
“I’ll tell you later, I swear, but I’m gonna head off to class now,” I said, mentally promising myself that I would tell Sophia and Noor about the conversation I heard between Jasper and Drake.
Drew:
I excitedly hopped around the living room of my house as I stared at the clock waiting for the hours to pass. Almost there... only a few more hours till the dance! My mom came in, took one look at me and left again. This whole day, after school had ended, I had been talking to Noor on the phone, helping her remember most of what Drake had erased from her memory. She had been so over excited and hyper. She had eaten about ten chocolate bars during our three hour long phone conversation. Then Luke came and took the chocolate bar box from her. She had thrown a fit over that. It made me laugh out loud just thinking about it.
“Two more hours!” I shouted. Mom came back into the living room.
“Honey, you've been staring at the clock for four hours. Maybe you should go out and do something,” she said.
