It was a Monday and I decided to go to school really early because I wanted to start my week off right.

Wait.

Is that? Is that...

Shawn?

I saw him getting out of some car that didn't look too brand new but was still I really nice shape.

Why does take the bus when he has a perfectly legitimate car?

I was hiding in the bush trying to hide from him. It took him two minutes to get out of the office, maybe he's applying to this school! But why? Since we're like in April, were almost out by now.

As he got out I tried to hide myself even more since I was sticking out from the side. When I was working on that action, I end up stumbling over a small branch that was growing on the floor.

And when I did stumble, I landed right into someone's arms.

Shawn's arms.

"Hey Taylor?" he asked quirkily.

My body went forward as my body was in his arms, like a superman position. That's how I tripped and look like when he caught me.

"I guess you can say I fell for you!" I joked around with him and shrugged.

He just chuckled a little, which was really cute like damn.

"So are you trying to attend here or?" I questioned him as he told me, "I already go here but I don't show up to classes. See, I pick up my stuff and do work somewhere else that's all."

"Mhmm, independent studies. Mandatory or is it your choice?" I started asking him some things as we walked back to his car.

"I choose to. Like, I'm not good with other people so here I am. Junior year doing work at home and libraries." he told me a lot that I didn't even ask about, which I enjoyed so I hit him with another one. "Well maybe I can work with you one day? And you should so try to attend school like... regular." All he did was smile.

"Taylor?" he whispered as I nodded.

"Can I get your phone number? Would be cool to see you around more than a the bus and early in the morning like this." when he ask I automatically wanted to say YES right away but I tried to cool down and make a causal, "Um I guess."

I took his phone and grabbed it, typing my phone and putting a cute name on it, with an emoji : TayCanyounotiff🙊✌💖

He exchanged with me and added his own name and number on my phone contacts.

"See you around Taylor." as he walked away, he turned around, smiled and waved goodbye.

Good to see that he was open with me and leaving those nods behind. Really bothered me when all he did was nod or shake his head when replying to me.

I turned around grasping on a pole and swinging around it happily.

That's when I bumped into one of my elementary friends. Why am I always bumping into people?

We stopped talking but sometimes I try to bring it back, he just brushes our whole pass off; like nothing ever happened.

"Hi Cam." then "Hey Tay."

And that's all it was. And that's all it'll ever be. Between us.

"Wait." He whispered as he grabbed my wrist. I was dumbfounded and confused of what he was actually doing.

"You dropped this journal from your bag just before you spun and slipped."

Of course that was all he was going to say. I don't know why I got my hopes up when I already saw it coming.
