Born with a privately-known deficiency that turned (and sometimes still turns) her skin bluish, Azuria of House Luxina is (a?/)the princess of her land of the fae.

For what feels like forever, the local legislation has been at odds and at literal civil war with each other due to differing views. Shockingly, it's not about the monarchy - they love them, they let international relations be fine, and the Royals basically have to be there as leads or they'll suffer. But, the king and queen not taking a side or doing anything, i.e. being pure souls and not using special magic to change ones' views via mind control or the like, has led to them and their family becoming or fearing becoming targets. Thus, with her best interests at heart, they chose to send her (and other threatened souls) away to safe places where no one would think to find them.

In Azuria's case, it was to the family's close, noble friends: the high elven lordship of Malonne in an elven country on the other side of the world.

Over the years, Azuria, now frequently called Ria, has gotten really close with the Lord and Lady's son, Elisen aka Eli. For example, they bonded over games when she accidentally interfered in one but excelled like a savant to win. But, due to their vast age difference and him quickly finding himself through his time away from home - dating, school, etc. - his focuses shifted, other souls, particularly the girl that'd eventually become his wife, started grabbing his attention more, leaving the puny princess alone again and, unexpectedly, heartbroken.

In an act of both sympathy and empathy, the Lady, with Luxina consent and protection from elven authority, decided to send her elsewhere, where she could both have protection, learn some, and find a soul that seemed like the perfect match to liven her spirits. Soon enough, Ria found herself at the top military school in the nation, where the Lady's other son Kharis Cyren - Eli's half-brother, a high/low elf blend bastard born from a surprise break/separation from Lord Malonne - studies and trains but not before Mother came to give her son the security details on Ria personally and garnering his interest.

As Ria learns the way of fighting, complex problem solving, and diplomacy under Kharis' and high officers' guidance, she and he, to the Lady's pleasure, get closer than ever imagined. If the fae king and queen have to start considering new policies about marriage, magic, and safety for skyscraping souls in the midst of hundreds of low-level ones being broken through war, then it's definitely legit.

Eventually, the time comes where she feels her home won't be whole again unless she steps in, and, despite her deficiency wanting to divert her, she puts her life on the line to end the battle once and for all.

Time passes, and, as Ria is healing physically and emotionally, she gets a surprise visit. More time passes, she's almost fully healed, and Kharis, with consent and watch of fae government, visits her with the utmost concern and attempted subtle anger over why Eli came to visit her at her home uninvited and out of nowhere after basically giving her no attention for years.
