There's some big things in the works...
" Damn, don't all speak at once." I followed Jaz's lead as we walked further into the living room as the men continued to sit mute.
" Nothing, nothing. Just going over everything that's all." Jaelyn spoke as he rose from his place on the couch and acted like he was heading to the door. I made a b-line to him, cutting off his path as he attempted to leave the room.
" Okay, obviously that was a lie, but I'm not even worried about that right now. Tell me what you were gonna tell me earlier." Everyone was silent as they awaited the answer with me; nosey asses.
" Look, it's been a long night we all need to rest and clear our heads. We'll talk about this ok, just not now." He was avoiding! Since I'd known Jaelyn he'd never been this evasive about anything. He wasn't tiptoeing around the subject, he was blatantly stepping around it with wide paces.
" No you told me you'd tell me tonight, so your gonna stay true to ya word and speak on it!" I wasn't angry but I was frustrated. I ran my hands through my hair once again before I continued, " You know what? Fuck it, I don't care. Look, I can't force you to tell me shit, so ima be the fuck out. You stay." With that I turned on my heel, grabbed my bag from the kitchen, and flew out the door before anybody could catch on. I was down the front steps before I remembered I'd been brought here by Hakim, I hadn't drove, " Fuck!"
I ran back up the stairs and flung the door open intent on grabbing Rah's keys and actually leaving this time.
" Come here little one." Rah was amused by my anger and frustration, I had no fucking clue why, but nevertheless there lurked the cadence of such in his tone and word choice. He picked me up so that I was facing him and released the line as he watched me struggle in his grasp.
" Ughh, put me down Rah. Catch a ride home with ya little friend Jaelyn." I cut my eyes at Jaelyn who thought he could ease out the door as Rah had me otherwise occupied. " Yeah slick ass, I see you!" Rah finally put me down.
" Look I promise I'll tell you ok. Just not right now."
" Whatever." At this point I didn't feel like arguing, again, fuck it. I turned and walked towards Jaz as she leaned on the living room couch witnessing the whole scene with slight amusement.
" You like fucking catnip little girl. They act crazy as shit around you." As she whispered to me we both snickered, the men's behavior was officially dubbed any-fucking-thing. As far as I was concerned this whole situation was done up, current and past theatrics had proven this point.
" I'll get at ya'll, ard?" Jaelyn was now making his rounds as he said goodbye, daps and hugs were being exchanged. It was only when he reached me that he paused.
" I promise ok? I'm sorry Ab." He grabbed my shoulders planting a kiss on my forehead, I was still livid and reciprocated no movement so he knew it. He could elude to telling me whatever truth he couldn't now, but I wouldn't believe it until I actually heard it.
" Yea, ard." And with that Jaelyn was out the house, whatever truth he was keeping going went right along with him. I waved my hand at him flippantly as the door shut, I would deal with him another time.
" You calm now?" Rah came up to me with outstretched arms, as if he was ready to restrain me, as he'd done moments ago. I looked at him with the slightly irked face as I nodded. He grabbed my hand and squeezed it, I almost forgot how calming his touch was to me when applied correctly.
" We going home ya'll I'm tired, so I know ya'll gotta be exhausted." His voice boomed around the room as he assessed each of our demeanors towards sleep.
