Untamable

Ep. 17

Everything is silent.

I have no senses, but I am awake now I know that.

I open my eyes, but I can't see. I take a deep breath, but cannot smell.

My throat hurts so I don't even bother to try and speak.

I move my hand around, but I can't feel anything.

I start to panic not knowing what happened after I blacked out.

Who were those men?

Where they all men?

I can't feel my body at all, but slowly my vision comes into focus and I see the blurry sight of a nurse and a man trying to keep me still.

My heart aches more when I realize...

Is my baby ok?

The man grabs my arms and holds me down, I can now see who it is.

"Joshua?" I call out, but I can not tell if I said it clearly, my throat feels scratchy, and I can not hear at all.

My vision comes back slowly, but my right eye remains half blind.

"Calm down Nani!" I read his lips.

My heart beats faster and my body aches, I give up.

I can feel warm tears fall down my face, my senses are slowly coming back.

"Nani!" I can faintly hear Joshua's voice, "everything is going to be okay!"

He is lying to me and we both know it.

I look over his shoulder and I can see the nurse readying a needle.

I look at him, then back at her, "Don't let her hurt me!" I cry out.

He looks at me confused, but turns around just in time to stop her from forcing the shot on me.

"What happened?" I ask now realizing how raspy my voice is. I reach up to touch it, and my throat aches, I cry out in pain as I take my hand away.

"Nani, don't do that, your neck is badly bruised!" Joshua grabs my hand.

"Bruised?" I ask my voice hard to understand, "From what?"

They refused to tell me anything until my vitals were stable.

My curiosity takes over me and I can't help worry.

Where is Seok?

Eon?

Cagh?

Is my baby ok?

I go to touch my stomach, not realizing that they strapped my arms down to keep me here.

I try to break from the straps, but after several attempts I fall back in defeat.

I look over and realize that I am in a room with another patient. Their curtain is covering them from my sight, but I can here their heart monitor. They have a strong heart and I envy them, mine is beating slow and quietly, though you can not tell the sound difference.

I worry for Seok. I know that he is hurt too, him and Cagh.

I shouldn't have gone to the store.

After a while of sitting in the hospital bed Joshua comes back in, but this time its more than just the nurse that comes with him.

Han comes in with him as well as two tall men in black suits, and an about 5 foot 6 women wearing heals and a nice suit as well.

All these suits are giving me a head ache.

"Hello Nani, I am Jun Celeste," The woman says, "And I have a few questions about the other night for you." she opens up a folder and pulls out some papers.

I sigh and sit back, still warry of the tall men.

I look at Joshua then the tall men.

"Can they sit outside?" He seems to know what I'm thinking.

"Of course." the lady nods to the men to leave from where she sits, next to the bed. They leave without a word.

"Now, do you remember what you were doing the night of April 16?"

I open my mouth to speak, but everyone looks scared by my voice so I stop.

"She was choked severely and her vocal cords got messed up Joshua says sounding upset.

My heart races and my breathing picks up, "What? I was choked?" My hands try to go back to my throat but are stopped again.

Only Joshua understands what I said, and he translates, "S-she has no recollection of what happened," a tear falls down his cheek as he grabs my hand again, "And she still hasn't seen her own face."

"Some body get this girl a mirror." Celeste says and the nurse obeys.

She holds it out in front of me and my heart stops.

My right eyes is black and purple and half swollen shut. I have a bandage wrapped around my head where a dark red stain sits on the right side of it. My lip is busted and bleeding still, probably from trying to talk. My hair is a nappy mess. On my throat there is the imprint of two hands wrapped around it.

Again I cry out in pain.

God knows how bad Seok took it.

I'm surprised the recognized me, because I can hardly recognize myself.

"My baby!" I cry out loud and I look at my stomach, still unsure if I am still pregnant.

The nurse runs away, dropping the mirror on the way out.

Celeste stands up with a worried look on her face and she moves away from me

Joshua can not take it and he leaves the room crying.

The nurse comes back in holing another shot and injects me with some kind of medicine.

My body goes numb again and I can't move anything but my face as I cry louder and louder by the second.

Eventually though, my voice weakens even more to where I am only barely squeaking.

My eyelids fall heavy, and once again....

I black out.
