"He asked me out on a date." I lowered my voice and leaned towards Kyla and Riley. "He's so cute but he's-"
"Too talkative?" Aimee sat in between the three of us. "He's always blabbing in fifth period."
"But it's cute right? Like he's shy?" Riley asked looking from me to Aimee.
"Yes." I said as Aimee laughed.
"No, he craves attention. Probably has never been told no in his life."
"Yeah," Kyla nodded in agreement. "Are you sure this is a good idea? He already ran out on you when two first kissed from embarrassment."
"What if he can't get it up and runs out again?" Riley added half jokingly. Kyla rolled her eyes at her.
"But seriously, make sure to be aware of the red flags if there are any." Kyla shrugged continuing to doodle on the edge of her paper.
"Well you girls already know I'll report back to you if anything good or bad happens." I nodded looking at them all and trying not to be suspicious of Aidan. He was harmless right? Dates were created to get to know one another. I was planning on getting to know him before we proceeded into relationship status... but boy was I eager to date him. It would be my first and I was planning on rushing it.

So I rushed home jumping out of my gym clothes and into the shower. I was nervous but not so much because he was easy to talk to. He knew what he wanted and that was me. What more could a girl ask for? I hurried out of the shower wrapping my hair up in a towel and another around my body as I stood in front of the bathroom mirror. I pouted my lips out putting my hands on my hips trying to pose. Trying to see which stance was the most attractive on me for a selfie. I had to post on instagram later detailing my night and updating my followers. It had been a while since I last posted. I think since I had been injured.

It wasn't worth it. I got ready quickly not taking much time to get ready. I already knew what I was going to wear and how I wanted to look for this date tonight. I had been thinking about it since I saw him...
now I couldn't stop thinking about our kiss in the hallway and how my stomach felt when he did it.
Fear was present. Adrenaline... butterflies as they called it. I just couldn't wait to feel it again and again. I was so ready for this. So ready for him.

"Are you planning on popping your cherry first date?" I spun around to see Aimee standing in the doorway with her eyebrows raised at me. "Mom did have the sex talk with you right?" She smirked and walked towards me. I blushed and stepped back not really wanting to talk about this to her.
"Of course she did, same time as you." I folded my arms over my chest as she neared me looking me up as if I were fragile.
"She told me more about it I bet. She would never want to poison her sweet baby girls mind." She chuckled almost in disgust as she circled me. "What did she tell you?"
"That boys and girls have different parts and sometimes when they get really close it happens." I widened my eyes as I said it hoping she knew what it was. I ultimately did fall in her trap because she burst out laughing the moment I finished.
"You can't even talk about sex, let alone think about it!" She flung over grabbing her sides. Being dramatic. She was wrong.
I rolled my eyes and sucked my teeth. "You really act like you know me sis." I put my hands on my hips and stuck out my chest confidently. I had the sudden urge to prove her wrong, make her feel little for once.  "I think you underestimate me. Take my innocence as ignorance and belittle me to make you feel better." She stood up straight now eying me cautiously as I now neared her. "You blame me for your self hatred and try to bring me down every chance you get." I felt this darkness come from the corner of the room and try to envelop me, consume me- try to make me hurt her. It scared me.. I decided I had to take a step away from it.
I shut my lips tightly seeing the sadness and fear show on her as I now looked down to her. I looked away and grabbed my purse before I fled her, leaving her and the darkness behind.

I took a deep breath once I was outside, kneeling over and trying to gather myself. I didn't like that at all.

"Emelie?" I looked up to see Aidan standing at the bottom of the stairs looking up to me with flowers in his arms.
I looked from his face to the flowers repeatedly until I began to smile realizing that he was actually there. "Wow, Aidan." I walked to him as he handed me the flowers smiling shyly. "These are beautiful." I looked down seeing it was a dozen roses, pink, red and white. I wrapped my fingers around the stems trying to shake my mind. "Thank you." I looked back up to his face smiling big and coming to. I stood on my tippy toes and hugged him with my free arm, having his arms linger around my waist.
"I'm glad you like them." He smiled leaving his hand on my waist as we looked up to one another. "My mom has a garden and so she let me pick them for you. She's a florist." He laughed as if that were lame to say. He was nervous. I was starting to get as nervous.
"Well your mom must be very talented." I said trying to compliment her. "Because these are beautiful." I nodded looking back down at them.
"I guess we should go." He chuckled nervous. "Don't want to lose our spot."
"Our spot to what?" I laughed and he giggled just pulling me towards his car.
"It's a secret okay?" He jogged over to the drivers side after letting me in the passenger side of his silver Toyota. I smiled putting on my seatbelt and looking over to him giddy.
"A secret?" I tried to stop myself from laughing as he nodded.
"I've been planning this since I first saw you." My heart fluttered from that. He started up the car and pulled out of my driveway eyes on the road. I stayed silent for the drive as the public radio station played softly to fill the silence. I was hoping he didn't notice how off I was but I was really trying to enjoy myself tonight with him. He really seemed like the one.
