My parents moved from Mexico to South Korea, because my grandma is in serious need of medication and she lives alone there.
Right now I am in the car with my father, my grandmother's bottle of pills in my hand, the car jumping up each time we pass by a bump.
I looked at my dad, who was too focused on the road to notice me looking at him."Dad, why did we have to come to Korea, I know english and Spanish, but not Korean." (Me)
"I can teach you, your grandma taught me the language and I am pretty sure I can teach you."(Dad)It got silent afterwards, my fingers played around with the top of the bottle, making it spin.
"Look, I promise everything will be fine, you will make new friends, it will be ok.."
He was trying to calm me and make me feel better.
He reached out his arm and caressed my hair as a 'everything will be fine'.......................
The school I would be attending was
Korea University, my father advised me that i couldn't stay with them at grandma's house.'I guess I will have to pay and stay at the dorms.'
I packed my clothes and other necessary items, underneath the stack of my bras and underwea, a shimmery necklace was spotted.
'My mother's necklace, she gave it to me for my birthday.'
I quickly finished packing my clothes and stared at the metal material for a while. Picking up each end of the gift I wrapped them around my neck and connected the ends, clipping them together.
The necklace had a white heart hanging at the middle, shining like a star.
"Ok I guess I'm ready to go."
With all my strenght I lifted the heavy bags and headed towards the living room in which both my father and mother were eating breakfast while talking peacefully.
"Bye sweetheart, we will miss you, we promise to call every day."With that said I opened the front door, got in the red car my mother had bought me, and headed towards the university.
....................
"This will be a long day."
My eyes skyped and looked up at the school .....it was HUGE, unknown people were walking in, I was extremely different though. It seemed as if my skin was the unusual tan skin, of course there were some tanned guys and girls, but I was the Mexican type of tanned.
I was Mexican after all.
All my bags stayed in the car and I opened the car door, letting the fresh, natural air brush against my skin.
"I don't think I'll make it out alive.."
I said to myself after sighing at the sight, I didn't know Korean, I wasn't their color, and I had a WAY different cultural society. The uniform skirt was too short (yes, they had to use uniform) and the shirt fit beautiful, but unfortunately one of the buttons from the button-up shirt had fallen when I was putting my things inside the car."Need help? You look confused."
A tall, cute, fit boy asked me after seeing my expression.
"Y-you speak English?"
I asked nervously feeling small and weird
"Yes, of course, most of us do. Are you new?"
He asked biting his lip, until he got pulled back by another guy.
They began to laugh together and the other guy put his arm around the boy.
"Leave the poor girl alone!!"
(Jungkook) the other guy jokingly said.
"I was just trying to help."
(Jimin) He pretended to choke jungkook then let go, and like maniacs they continued to laugh.
"Don't listen to him, he's an F-BOY!!"
Jungkook screamed then ran for his life after the death stare he received in return from jimin.
"Yah!!"'Crazy psychos.'
It was really going to be a long year.
