Annilise was sitting in her room looking through some books she found when she looked over at Kane with a smile on her face, "so Kane why don't you tell me about yourself? I told you about me now it's my turn to learn about you..." The young girl said putting her book down and sitting cross legged her hands on her cheeks and her elbows rested on her knees, "come on I wanna know more about you and the others..." The young teenager stared intently at the much older male, which caused him to chuckle softly, giving Annilise a sense of victory, "alright I will tell you about myself Annie, and then you have to go to sleep do you understand...? You got your first day of school tomorrow and I would rather you not be late..." Annilise nodded her head and smiled happily, it had been at least half a month since she was brought here by Alice and she was excited that she was finally confident enough to start school herself, granted, it was all going to be online to help avoid being caught and recaptured by Galen, but it was something. The blue haired female scooted herself closer to Kane and she saw him laugh softly, "alright, alright, I'll tell you about myself..."
Kane looked over to Annilise when she scooted very close to him, she really wanted to learn more about him and he couldn't complain about that she is a good person and naturally curious as most fifteen year olds are, "Alright I will tell you something about myself... Just no more puppy dog eyes... alright Annie... You make it even harder to say no when you do that..."
"I know that's why I do it... It works every time" Kane heard Annilise giggle happily at that remark and he couldn't help but laugh more as he looked at her, "Alright so what do you want to know first my little angel...?"
"Well first I want to know what it was like being you when you were first created."
"You're going way back aren't you Annilise...? Well, when I had my first years of life Zeus made all of us and when we came out we were all fully grown men and the moment we were created was when we were given our first task to protect Zeus no matter what the cost is..."
"That sounds like a rather tough life... Was it?"
"No, not at all, we were all just his bodyguards..."
"How many of them were there?"
"Let's see how many of us were there protecting Zeus..." Kane said thinking to himself as he was running the list of all the names of his friends and ex-friend, "there was fourteen of us all together... And one of them is dead due to an unfortunate hunter incident and the other decided that he was going to be a traitor and form the band of Hunters in the first place..." Kane said with a sad sigh as he thought about how close they all were, but then how the box made everything difficult, he looked over at Annilise who started shaking like a leaf at the mention of the hunters and he couldn't help but feel bad he upset her and so did his demon as the lamp light exploded causing the small girl to squeal in fright, this only upset the demon inside his head more as he continued to cause destruction to the room. Kane went over to Annilise and pulled her close hugging her and rubbing her back soothingly, "it's alright Annie no one will hurt you.Not when I'm around you are always going to be safe... Disaster is just upset because you're upset... and I don't blame him... I don't like when you're upset either... What made you upset..?"
"Just the very word makes me feel like I'm suffocating in my own trauma... I don't want to think about Galen or the hunters ever again for as long as I live..."
"I can't promise you that Annie... We all have a vendetta against the Hunters and Galen... but I can promise you, I can alleviate your pain and trauma associated with them..."
"If that's all I can get I will take it then Kane... Thank you... Tell me more please..."
"Sure thing little angel... So we were all protecting Zeus from any misfortunes and people trying to kill him. We were honestly the best at our job and no one was able to get past us." Kane said looking at her before slowly pulling away to hold her hand tightly, "Then when Galen heard about the box he thought this would be a great opportunity to make a name for ourselves so we each had a part to play in this whole thing and our part in the plan is what led us to which demon we had... Paris got Promiscuity because of how he seduced Pandora, and Maddox got violence because he had a part in killing Pandora and the list just continues... that is what happened to get me where we are today as the cursed and immortal Lords of the Underworld."
"Wasn't there a war going on around that time between the Titans and the Gods...?"
"You're smart aren't you? Yeah there was that's why we thought it would be a great opportunity to do so, however, when we opened the box we realized the mistake we made because when we tried to catch them we couldn't and the whole world went to shit and we couldn't catch them Zeus then cursed us with the demons we set free and now you know us as the Lords of the Underworld."
"That is such a good story... I mean sad ending but a good story nonetheless... Thank you... What else can you tell me...?"
"Well we weren't always stuck like glue after the incident... For an example we were a unit minus Hope who wanted the glory for himself... However, when we lost our friend and brother Baden we broke apart some of us went with Sabin and the others went with Lucien... The ones who went with Sabin wanted to take revenge on our fallen friend for what he went through... I was in that group while the others who went with Lucien wanted to keep the world safe from, mainly, the humans."
"Wow... That's such a good story Kane... I loved it..." Annilise said looking at Kane and the male couldn't help but smile as he pulled her closer to him, "You're welcome... Do you still feel the same about us no that you know our side of the story...?"
"Nope... You're all still the same warriors that do all they can to help the world around them..." This statement made Kane smile more, never in his life had he com across a person that was so carefree. Even when she has faced some of the toughest hardships out there, he then looked at her sternly, "now little angel you heard a story about me now you know what time it is... It's time for bed..." Kane watched as Annilise nodded her head and she laid down on his chest sighing contently, "one more thing before bed..." Kane wasn't sure what she meant by this but he soon figured it out when she leaned her head up and placed a gentle kiss on his chin causing him to blush a little bit, "goodnight Kane... I love you..."
"Love you too Annie..."
Sabin was pacing around his room when he heard his phone go off and he picked it up, it was a text from Lucien, the message read, "We're going to look for any potential leads about the artifacts or the box. I'll be Taking Aeron, Cameo, Maddox, and Strider."
"Sounds good, then that leaves the rest of us to guard the fortress. Stay on your guard Lucien especially with all the hunters running around looking for Annilise and Alice." Sabin replied before he set his phone down on the nightstand with a soft sigh, "Okay since Lucien, Aeron, Cameo, Maddox, and Strider are going to look for potential lead that leaves Kane to protect Annie, Torin watching the surveillance system and the rest of the able bodies to protect the fortress which is Alice, Gideon, Amun, Reyes, Paris, and I... That isn't too bad considering there's a vampire in the mix. Let's just hope we don't get anymore surprises..." he heard his phone go off and he picked it up looking at the message, it was from someone he didn't know, "Maybe it's a hunter." Sabin thought as he looked at the message, but he was wrong, it was someone else entirely, the message read, "Don't you lay a finger on what's mine Lord. I will be cross if you do and you'll have a fight you never wished you started. For I know how to kill both her and you. A" Sabin stared at the message and he threw his phone on the bed, "Who the fuck is that? And how in the fuck did he get my number?!" Sabin asked in more anger than worry for his safety, "and what does he mean by her unless... It's Alice's ex-boyfriend... and even if it was how would he know how to contact me...?" Sabin was pacing back and forth until he was stopped by the sound of a familiar voice, "Sabin, is everything alright? You look pissed and I mean really pissed..."
"Alice... Do you happen to know this person's number?!" Sabin asked her showing her his phone and the message, "I don't know the number but I recognize the signature... It's Adrien my ex-boyfriend... He must have told the police to look through my phone records and figure out who the last person I texted was and went from there... He must be using a disposable phone because that wasn't his original number..."
"Well then he's going to have a rude awakening then if he thinks he's going to take you away from me... I love you Alice and I don't want anything to happen to you..."
"Sabin... How nice and thoughtful of you... That's strange you weren't like this the first time we met..."
"Well maybe you changed me Alice, changed me for the better... You've showed me a side of you that no one else has seen... Plus your fighting skills are absolutely amazing! I would be happy to spend the rest of my life with you."
"Then I guess we're going to have to take down Adrien Ramirez and get him out of my life forever..."
