Today, you were absent.

The seat beside Jungkook, and in front of me was empty.

Your absence had a somewhat neutral effect on me. I didn't feel anything.

Just a tinge of curiosity to your missing self.

You not being there, I sat with Jungkook.

It has been a while since I had an actual conversation with him.

I mostly avoided him not sure why, and he himself was busy with you.

More like you kept him busy.

I watched as he was focusing on flipping the bottle, groans following as the bottle fell down.

For some reason the professor was late to class, so we all were goofing around.

"Look! Hyung!" He exclaimed, excitedly pointing at the upstraight bottle he flipped.

He really is a maknae, I thought.

I chuckled and ruffled his hair,to which he whined.

He was cute, way cuter than me. Isn't it why you fell for him and not me?

My thoughts were cut off when his phone suddenly beeped out.

A text message.

From you.

Jungkook hastily opened his inbox, scrolling through your messages.

He had a goofy smile on, while he did so.

Professor came in, taught us and had already gone.

Still Jungkook never stopped texting you.

That boyish grin never leaving his face.

Watching him, I wished I could say,

That there was a time, when I was in place of him.

But no, I probably was never in your frequent contacts.

~I assumed you as a rose, when actually you were a cactus~
