After a week more of silence, they approached an incredible sight, it was a city, with large buildings but the most incredible part was that the whole place was floating off the ground, Quix gazed at it through one of the front windows in awe, Tax doing the same, Goldy was jumping up and down to catch a peek and Echo stood beside Quix gaping at the mighty city, "wow" uttered Quix, Julius stopped the carriage at a weird transparent road that led up to the city, hopping out of the carriage Quix touched the road, his hand fazing right through it, "whoa" gasped Quix, Tax was just distracted by the city that floated above it hung over a valley, the valley was filled with native wildlife and a gorgeous lake in the centre, the sunlight seemed to somehow reach the ground in the valley.
Julius was showing a scaly alien a card and the alien plucked a head from his head, it placed both into a machine, it made a sound and the alien gave Julius his ID back, the path hardened and Quix gasped as his hand hit the now solid road, he straightened himself and gazed at the road his eyes looking at the city, Julius called them to go back into the carriage, Rebel was gazing out the window and Echo was pointing out to it for Goldy who was sleepily rubbing her eyes.
The trip up the path was surprisingly short, the excitement was contagious and it seemed everyone wanted to get a closer look, once they reached the city entrance, Julius called for everyone to grab their stuff, "ok, you have a hotel room, the alien in charge of your group will be here in a few minutes, I cannot stay as my horses don't have a place up here, so if you ever need me, the place I'm staying at has an emergency calling system" explained Julius, he double checked the carriage, and nodded, Quix held Rebels lead, but he didn't have to worry, the teen stuck close to his side, Echo held onto his own leash, Tax was fixing on Goldie's back pack and moved on to Echo and he took the leash much to Echo's confusion.
Rebel wore his own back pack and gazed at the city, Tax was to distracted to realise his mistake, the city was massive and amazing, "greetings! I'll be your guide!" Came a voice, it was a shiny skinned alien, who wore and outfit which blocked the light, as if the light would touch him he'd probably end up blinding everyone whose not from his species, "hello!" Greeted Quix, he smiled at the alien who waved around to follow him, they followed the alien to a tall building, it had a sign out front that read 'Fortama', he led them inside and explained that the room is on the fifth floor and that the lady at the counter will help them settle in.
They wondered towards the counter, Echo stayed back to look at the alien who patted the humans head, "hey lil guy!" Greeted the alien, Echo stared in awe as the aliens body sparkled, "ah, we've been expecting you! Your room was changed last minute because of your newest addition, so the rules here are simple, don't cause trouble, no entering restricted areas as you will fall through the floor and your pets have a required daily check up" explained the counter Lady, she was an insect looking alien with big eyes and sharp teeth, Quix nodded, "here's your room number" she said giving them a card and shooing them off, the began heading towards the elevator, "hmhm missing something?" Called out the guide, Tax and Quix quickly looked at themselves and their bags, before realising that Echo wasn't there, they looked back to see Echo playing with an alien pen that the shiny alien guide had given him, "Echo!" Exclaimed Tax, Quix chuckled, "you naughty boy" chuckled Quix.
Quix turned and saw Echo's lead in Tax's hand, he didn't say anything but gave Tax quite a nasty look, Echo looked at them happily, the strange pen had many different buttons for writing on different surfaces, he handed back the pen and ran over to his owners, Quix snatched the leash off Tax and attached it to Echo who happily told Goldy and Rebel about the strange toy, Goldy was over the moon with how amazed she was and Rebel merely snickered at the excitement in the boys eyes, they led them into the elevator, Tax and Quix wobbled a little, they had never been in an elevator and the movement made them woozy, but it was worse for the humans who squeaked in fear and hugged the walls, once they got out, the humans rushed out and stared at the elevator with distrust, that caused Tax and Quix to laugh, despite their dizzy heads, they headed to a numbered room, '55' it read and they swiped the card, the door opened, there was an in closed verandah, which could be seen from the the front door, the room had four rooms, two for the owners and one for the pet humans, they looked around in wonder and amazement, they checked the bathroom and it had a smaller human toilet, Echo walked towards the verandah, it had a fly wire like material to let the air in, the verandah had a small fake grass area for pets to play on and a table and chairs set up, it was amazing.
Rebel having been released from his leash went into the human room, it had a large cage, a bunk bed with the lower bed being a double size, it was kind of cold and clean, the carpet that ran along the floor was grey and four trays were screwed to the wall, one being bigger, that one was for their drinking water, and the other three was for their meals, Rebel poked at the bed, he avoided the cage, Goldy was in Tax's bedroom, his suitcase had already been placed inside, each bedroom had a double bed, a closet, draws, a lamp and a fan, the centre of the room were Tax and Quix now stood, had couches and a huge TV, there was a fridge and microwave in a corner, it seems these rooms didn't have kitchens, "you really screwed up! I'm just glad Echo is such an incredible little human!" Said Quix releasing his anger, Tax didn't want to admit he was wrong, "well than why didn't you notice" bit back Tax, "because I trust you enough to know that you'll do things properly!" Snapped Quix, Tax didn't reply, he knew he was in the wrong, but he couldn't help it, the city was just so distracting, Quix walked to the verandah and hugged Echo who was terrified of the height but still wanting to see the view, he kept pointing at the city his eyes wide, Goldy managed to pull herself up onto Tax's bed so she could finish her nap.
