"So.. why did we BLOW UP MY FANS!?" screamed Liz as she used her dragon wings to glide alongside us, tears gushing from her face. "What was THAT all about!!?"
"Liz!" I exclaimed. "NOT NOW!!"
Me and my friends were gliding over the rocky terrain and cliffs, somehow the coppery wings were keeping us alift.
It was a great experience.. amazing.. and easy to get the hang of. But overall, it also made me incredibly nervous, and I was afraid that any lapse in concentration would cause me to fall.
Of course, from this height I probably wouldn't die being a Servant and all.. perhaps I'd only break every bone in my body after creating a huge anime-style crater. Well that was a pleasant thought.
"We need to get lower!! land!! These wings weren't made to last long!!" Annabeth yelled.
Sure enough the coppery feathers were starting to molt from our wings. Not wanting to end up like the world's flattest Camelot Pancake, I began gliding downwards, my friends following me until we landed on a nearby observation deck next to a tourist gift shop.
People pointed at us, staring. And I couldn't blame them. I was still wearing my Lily gown and armor.. Liz had a tail and wings.. and I wasn't sure if Daedalus's wings being just machines actually created or was affected by Mist... come to think of it.. I wasn't even sure if normal magic like the Heroic Spirit summoning spells were even affected much by Mist.. (even though Chiron said the gods started applying the mist to us Servants... after all.. I don't even think the gods were in complete control of the Mist.)
"Well... now what?" said Mordred. "We're stuck in Colorado.. Luke's about to attack camp.. and... just.. WOW!"
"We need to get back to Camp.." I said. "That's the main thing... and get a message out to Chiron to let him know.. so we should try and get an Iris message out, and then figure out a way to get back into the Maze."
"The Maze?" said Rachel. "you wanna go BACK!?"
"Yeah.. not too sure about going back in." said Nico.
"It's the fastest way to travel back to camp." said Annabeth. "It would take too long to get to an airport anyways. "
"Or.. maybe Liz can teleport us back?" said Rachel. "That's your name right dragon girl?"
"Eh? What? Me? Doesn't work like that.. I kinda hid a summoning spell in these puppies when they weren't looking some time ago so I could give them my surprise idol music whenever they needed to hear my soothing voice!" said Liz. "But I can't take anybody with me.. only works on me!"
"Well.. you heard her.. come on.. let's see if we can find a prism in the gift shop. "
Annabeth, Nico, Mordred and Liz went to look in the Gift Shop for a Prism with which to make a rainbow, leaving me and Rachel alone outside.
"Well.." said Rachel. "Nice view huh?"
I looked at the scenery around us, and I did feel it had it's own natural beauty to it. Nature was a beautiful thing.. but something about how Rachel said it concerned me.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
"I'm fine.. it's just.. nature.. and stuff.. " Rachel muttered. "You know I fight to protect stuff like this every day.. it's who I am Saber.. and yet more of it seems to disappear the more I look at it.."
I felt for Rachel.. I really did.. I had looked at magazine pictures of Britain and it's surrounding country, and so much of what was beautiful about Europe had disappeared thanks to the developments of civilization.. it made me sad.
