A/N: This goes along with the "Wicked" series. Like an unofficial chapter :P Once again, we're gonna take a little time skip into the future 😉 Let's say...about ten years.
"Diamond selling A Capella artists Home Free are gathering in Nashville this weekend to celebrate their beatboxer extraordinaire's vow renewal ceremony to his husband. Adam Rupp, Home Free's beatboxer, and his partner Avi Kaplan-Rupp, are celebrating ten years of marriage this weekend. The couple decided to have a vow renewal ceremony since they opted to not have a wedding their first trip down the aisle.
Kaplan, formerly of Pentatonix fame, is now an artist in his own right with his group Avriel & The Sequoias. He is also an accomplished photographer with a book of his own photography for sale on his website. Kaplan also volunteers at the A Capella Academy each year while his husband has his own beatboxing academy.
Rupp and Kaplan are a true rags-to-riches love story. Rupp had been homeless for five years, living on the streets of Minnesota when Kaplan also became homeless. Rupp took the younger man under his wing and the two became friends. Over the course of time, feelings deepened for the pair. Rupp says he discovered Kaplan's amazing voice and thought they could support themselves by street performing.
That is where Rupp's bandmate, Tim Foust, discovered the pair. The three gentlemen became friends and Foust offered to let the pair move in with him. Shortly after Foust joined Home Free, the need for a beatboxer came up and Foust was quick to suggest his friend. Kaplan's luck was also changing. Around that time, he met his former bandmates in Pentatonix.
The happy couple are having their celebration at their home outside of Nashville this weekend for close friends and family. Kaplan has been estranged from his family for over eleven years and his family will not be attending the celebration. Kaplan's former bandmates will be in attendance.
Rupp, who's band has worked with the likes of the Oak Ridge Boys, Charlie Daniels, Lee Greenwood, Alabama, Trace Adkins, and Garth Brooks, is in talks with Nobuo Uematsu about doing some work for the Final Fantasy series. The couple have been approached by writers to do their autobiography but so far, the couple haven't responded to requests."
Cindy Rupp's jaw hit the floor when she saw her son standing with his band receiving an award. She could not believe he was not only still alive but successful, and famous. He's worked with famous people, too! 'How did he survive living on the streets for five years?' she wondered. Then she realized he was gay. 'He probably did ungodly things to other heathen men for money to survive!' she scowled.
Hearing about the charmed life her son was living disgusted her. How could he be so blessed when he was living such an evil, sinful life? How could he even live with himself knowing what a heathen he was? How could he live with himself knowing he had forced his own mother to kick him out of their lives? He didn't even try to reach out to the family. They haven't heard one word from him since the night she had kicked him out. Cindy's phone rang and she absent-mindedly answered it.
"Hello?"
"Cindy! Was...did I just see your son on TV? Adam?" Carol, a friend from work, asked her.
Cindy sighed knowing this was going to happen, "Adam, he...he left a long time ago. He's...he's not really apart of the family anymore."
"I didn't know he was gay! Why did you tell us?" Carol asked.
Cindy mumbled, "I didn't know either until the night I kicked him out of my house!"
Carol gasped at what she heard.
