Chapter 3

When I woke up next I was in an infirmary with a splitting headache. A nurse came to my side, "Where am I?"

"Berlin," she answered checking my vitals.

"What happened?" I asked.

"You were in a car accident, your car rolled over ten times you're lucky to be alive," she noted.

"Where's Steve?" I moaned closing my eyes as the migraine got worse.

"Here take these," she handed me some pills before leaving.

I reached for them when I realized my hand was cuffed to the bed, "What the hell?" I shook my hand but it didn't budge. I tried to use my powers but nothing worked, I was too weak. After giving up I checked my body moving every body part. There were a few sore spots and I found nasty bruises on my legs and chest. The door to my room opened and Sharon walked in.

"I'm glad you're awake," she smiled.

"Where's Steve?" I asked, "And Sam."

"They were arrested but they escaped with Bucky and I'm gonna help you too," she whispered, "You're just gonna have to stay put a little while longer and then I'll come back for you."

Sharon left without another word as I waited. A few hours later Tony walked in with the book of accords, "I'll be damned if you think I'm going to sign those," I snapped.

"I didn't think you would," Tony confessed.

"Your own friends, Tony? Really?" I asked.

"Yes, Addie, because I care about you and I don't want you to get hurt," he shot back.

"Well look where I am. It's a little too late for that now," I yelled as Nat and Vivian walked in, "Great now you're here too."

"We have 36 hours to find Steve and we need you to help us," Nat told me.

"Like I would help you," I shook my head, "You guys just don't get it. We're already freaks, me, Wanda, Banner. Now to have us labeled as one.....I can't." I turned away from them and they slowly left the room. I fell asleep soon after that then to be woken by Sharon.

"Come on, we're going," she said in a hushed tone. I groaned, "We gotta go now!" She commanded as she undid my cuff from the bed and putting it on my other wrist. She guided me through the building when a guard stopped us.

"Where do you think you're going with her?" He asked.

"You're going to let us go and not speak of it again," I commanded and he nodded before turning back to his post. We were out of the building in no time and Sharon led me to her car. She opened the trunk where Steve's shield and Sam's wings were. She handed me some clothes to change out of my hospital gown before we left. It was still dark out as the sun hadn't risen yet. We drove about an hour away as the sun rose before pulling up underneath a bridge in the middle of nowhere. "Now what?" I asked.

"We wait for them," Sharon sighed unbuckling as we sat in silence.

"So how do you and Steve know each other?" I asked.

"Well a few weeks after you disappeared after the Battle of New York I was moved in across the hall from Steve to keep tabs on him undercover," she explained.

I nodded as we sat in silence again.

"You two are really cute together," Sharon commented, "For what he's been through he's sure lucky to have you."

"Thanks," I smiled. We made small talk until an old VW Bug pulled up behind us and I saw Steve in the rearview mirror get out off the car and I grinned getting out of the car quickly. I limped quickly over to him.
