"the brightest smiles tell the saddest stories."
Calum has never really opened up to me before. I mean sure, he's told me stories of his adventures and childhood, but it was never bad. But in the about half a year I've known Calum, he always had a funny or heartwarming story to tell. They were never sad or gave hints that something had gone wrong in his life. At this point, Calum seemed like a happy guy.
However, I knew from the beginning that wasn't the case. No one could ever be that happy all of their life. Everyone is bound to hit a hard spot at least once in their life. Calum had gone through some things and I knew it, he just never told me.
I never bothered to ask either, I figured he'd tell me one day when he was ready. And I guess today was that day.
I woke up to the sun leaking through my window shades and Calum's arms around me. I swear waking up next to him was one of the greatest feelings. I stretched my legs and decided to get started on breakfast. The whole time I made Calum and I's food, I couldn't stop thinking about what he was going to tell me. Honestly, the possibilities are endless with him.
I didn't even notice my focus had drifted until I heard the loud beeping of the smoke alarm. I jumped slightly and quickly snapped out of my trance. I turn off the stove, grab a broom and smack the alarm until it stops screeching. I sigh as I walk back into the kitchen, noticing the now burnt pancakes on the pan. As I scrape them into the trash, I feel warm arms wrap around me.
"Good morning love." Calum said in a morning voice.
good morning love.
"Good morning. I'm sorry I woke you up with the smoke alarm." I slightly laughed.
"It's okay. I wanted to cook with you anyway." he smiled into my neck. I giggle and Calum removes his arms from my body.
Calum and I sing along to All Time Low and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers as we make breakfast together. After we're done, we place our plates in the sink and sit on the couch. I'm off in my own world when Calum squeezes my hand to gain my attention.
"Hey, are you okay?" he asks with slight concern.
"Uh, yeah. What's up?" I respond.
"I want to take you somewhere." he smiles. "Start getting ready. I'll be back here in an hour."
And with that he gets up, grabs his keys and winks as he leaves.
"Shit! An hour?" I said quite loudly. I race into my room and begin getting ready.
I slip on some skinny jeans and a cream sweater, knowing it's a bit chilly today. I quickly straighten my stray curls and apply some makeup. I look at the clock and see that it's been almost forty five minutes. I put on some white vans and head out into the kitchen. I grab my wallet and keys and reach for the handle to my front door just as Calum opens it.
"Ready babe?" he grins. I smile at his use of babe and nod. Calum grabs my hand and leads me to the elevator. Once we're in his car, I'm hit with the realization that I have no idea where we're going.
"Calum?" I ask somewhat quietly.
"Yeah?" he says, turning to me.
"Where are we going?" I asked curiously.
