I was now in Calum's apartment, and it was a lot cleaner than I had expected. Everything was in its place, even the couch pillows were neatly placed in the corners.

"Wow. Are you a clean freak?" I jokingly ask, looking around to see even more neatly placed things.

"Um, not necessarily." Calum laughs. "I just like everything to have a place I guess." I nod and follow him into the kitchen.

"Popcorn, drinks?" he said, looking at me.

"Um, popcorn would be nice." I said. He nods and grabs some popcorn and throws it into the microwave.

"So why'd you move to Australia?" he asks, pulling the popcorn out of the microwave and finding a bowl to put it in.

"Uh, I'm not really sure actually. I wanted to go far so I guessed Australia would be a nice place to go." I said, not really having a good reason as to moving here that I minded sharing with Calum.

"Seems fair." he smiled, as he handed me the big bowl of popcorn. I walk into his living room and place the popcorn on his coffee table before sitting on his couch.

"Want a blanket?" Calum asks.

"Uh, yeah. Thanks." I smiled as he turns to go find a blanket.

He returns shortly after and hands me a grey fuzzy blanket. Calum sits down a few inches away from me as I unfold the blanket. I place it on both of us, not wanting him to get cold.

He scoots a little closer to get more of the blanket. I can smell his cologne from how close we are, and it makes me feel happy. His scent was nice.

"What do you want to watch?" Calum asks, turning on the TV.

"Lets watch a horror movie." I said, briefly exploiting my deep love for horror movies.

"Hell no." Calum laughs. "They scare me too much."

I frown. "Awh, is Calum scared of horror movies?" I said, mocking his fear of scary movies. "Want me to hold your hand?" I said, jokingly.

"You might need to if we watch a scary movie. If it gets too scary, will you?" Calum says, giving me puppy dog eyes. He sounded like a kid.

"Oh my gosh, fine you big baby." I laugh. "Let's watch The Conjuring."

Calum quickly types in the name of the movie and presses play. He takes a deep breath and crosses his legs on the couch. I place my legs to the side and put my hands on my thighs underneath the blanket, waiting for the movie to begin.

later

We're about an hour into the movie and I can tell Calum is terrified. I kind of feel bad for making him watch this, he's obviously scared. A jump scare comes on and Calum jumps, grabbing my hand from under the blanket. I'm a little taken back, but I quickly take his hand in mine. He intertwines our fingers, which makes me smile. It's such a small gesture but it made me warm. We continue to watch the movie and I feel my eyes start to get heavy. I closed my eyes, convincing myself I'd just rest them for a little bit.

the next morning

I wake up in bed that isn't mine. I start to panic but quickly realize I'm in Calum's bed. He must've taken me here when I fell asleep during the movie last night.

I get out of Calum's bed and walk into the living room. I see Calum laying on the couch, sound asleep with the grey blanket from last night. I can't help but notice how sweet Calum looks when he sleeps. His facial expression is soft and gentle, which makes me smile.
