I feel like I've been here before. Walked the same grounds, smelt the same air, and saw the same sights. It was on the tip of my tongue. I just couldn't get it out. The crackle of the rocks when my feet hit the gravel road. My face was here. I could feel my nimble fingers touch my delicate face. But I couldn't move. LIke all in the world revolved around me. I made my way to a deserted field, and sat in a patch of flowers. The tall strands of grass flew up into the sun. The sky was a clear blue, and the light was beating hard on my skin. I got up and danced around, like my body moved in slow motion. I flipped my head to see a giant wave roll towards me. I tried running but my body wouldn't move any faster.
I tried yelling but nothing came out. I couldn't move any faster no matter how hard I tried. The the wave hit me and I was awoken in the hospital.
Having the light shine into my eyes were a pain. I looked around. The room was big, and there were some windows. The beeping of the machines sounded like guns going off. Like all my senses were fragile. I tried moving my fingers but it hurt too much. My arms were wrapped up, my legs were in casts, and my torso was tightly wrapped. I've been here before, but not as injured as this.
Seth and Trey came rushing in.
"Oh my gosh! You're awake! Are you feeling okay?" Seth grasped my hand. I flinched when he picked it up.
I just stared blankly at them. What was I supposed to say?
Seth started to weep."I'm so sorry! I never meant for this to happen" he sobbed.
I tried shaking my head. Then my mom rushed into the room and cradled my head in her hands. She kissed my forehead.
Joel and Christine came in next. "Oh gosh! Your hurt so badly!" Christine gasped as she poured cool water down my throat. Its felt like she extinguished a fire in my body. Joel put his hand over mine.
Joel then brushed a few loose strands of my hair out of my face so gently, I was afraid to fall asleep. That was my favorite thing he does to me.
"How are you feeling?" He asked softly.
I opened my mouth and inhaled some air. Speak, my mind was saying, tell them you remember!
Everyone looked at me like they were holding on a rope 500 feet off the ground.
"I remember" I croaked so softly, I was afraid the couldn't hear me. My mom looked at me.
"Remember what? Sweetie, what do you remember?" she whispered.
The doctor rushed in, Aaron following her.
"Its a miracle!" The doctor exclaimed.
Everyone looked at the doc, waiting for an explanation.
"The accident regained her memory! Besides the injuries and broken bones, this accident helped her!" she explained. Everyone was in shock and looked at me.
Of course I remember, I remember the competition, me falling, the helicopter taking me to the hospital.
I remember trying to find the memories that were buried deep inside of me. I knew I had it, I just didn't know how to grasp it. I remember moving, and Hawaii and Joel's and I anniversary. I remember going to the therapist, and getting back my friends. I remember all that. Everything. Like my puzzle has just been completed.
Joel was the first to come over and kiss my cheek. He then whispered in my ear.
"I can hear your heart beating" he said so only I can hear. That's when I sat up, with all my strength. All of the pain was difficult but it was worth it.
I kissed his cheek. Christine "aww"ed and everyone smiled at me. I was going to be okay.

Epilogue
2 months later, the whole gang and I were on the beach. I was swimming in the ocean at sunset.
Did I ever tell you that sunsets were my favorite time of day?
Another barbeque was going on at my house today for the small town. Music was drumming loudly. And everyone was having a good time.
Everyone healed from the wreck. Dad came home from Iraq and mom got pregnant with ANOTHER boy! I kept the five hundred dollars for if anything came up. My room was redone so all my pictures were in order by the date.
Matt got all the cancer out of him so now he's cancer free! Aaron had no permanet injuries and Christine and I were closer then ever before. I got accepted into a local college for surfing and academic learning!
Me and Joel snuck out of the ocean and onto the beach.
"Who ever won the finals?" I asked.
"You did!" He smiled.
I grinned. I forgot to ask who ever one. I can't believe I did. Even my accident? No one even bother to tell me either.
I looked into the eyes I've missed. He leaned down and kissed me. I noticed that he kissed me differently than before the chaios happened.
I pulled back. He looked confused.
"Joel, You can kiss me now. Everythings over. I'm okay" I smiled.
With that he leaned down for the second time and kissed me like he should. Those soft lips forcefully on mine. I'm okay, I repeated in my head, I'm okay.
The end.
