(Prologue)
"Oh my Arceus, here she comes!" a voice cheered happily, pumping her fist into the air."Hana is looking even more beautiful with those flowers she's wearing," another expressed with flaunting pride.
This conversation occurred between Pancham, Sylveon's loyal friend and brother figure and Zeni the Squirtle, Sylveon and Pikachu's practical friend who was heroic when it came to anything else but thunder (which she really feared for some reason).
Zeni had barely just arrived from Kanto, and since the long time that had gone on ever since their last encounter, she had almost no idea of what had been going on between her two friends.
"Yeah! But Pikachu is looking great, too, don't you think? That black bowtie suits him well," she added, shooting a smile at Pancham.
"True... they're both looking really good. Especially since they're so happy…" Serena's Pancham agreed, a satisfied grin on his face.
Zeni hummed, momentarily closing her brown eyes.
"Anyway... I was surprised when they told me Pikachu and Eevee一 I mean, Sylveon, were getting married!" She quickly corrected herself.
Pancham merely nodded, his joy still evident.
"Finally!" Zeni sighed, a drop of relief in her voice. "I'm glad those to are still happy together..." At her last words, she sounded weird.
Pancham shot her a look, and while casually munching on the leaf in his mouth. "You worried…?" he asked, concerned himself.
"W-what? Of course not... I'm glad, really. There are so many happy couples around lately." She was counting the numbers with her short fingers as she named each of them.
"Pikachu's trainer and his performer girlfriend, that glasses guy and the skater girl, Braixen and Greninja, too…"
Everybody has somebody, Zeni concluded with a bittersweet feel as she glanced at the ground with a slight smile.
"Everybody... except me." She faked a chuckle to lighten the damp mood she had accidentally caused.
"Well… add me to that list," Pancham hesitantly said, munching on a bamboo leaf again.
Zeni looked astounded for quite a while: did that mean only the two of them were left? Wasn't that weird一
"...Also Chespin."
"Ah... nevermind." She shook her head, calling herself silly.
"They're saying their vows…!" Serena's panda Pokémon pointed out as both of their views quickly, if anxiously, shifted to the bride and groom.
~Ash and Serena glanced at each other with a nostalgic grin making its way to their faces, as the two stood each next to their respective Pokémon partners.
Other attendees to their small wedding, located exactly on the beautiful Eevelution Forest grassfields, included their old travelling companions, Pikachu's friends and Ash Ketchum's as well... only someone was missing. Ash frowned worriedly at this.
Pikachu and Hana smiled blissfully, sitting in front of a tall arch decorated by flowers, green leaves and and wood. They knew the heartbeats the had the blessing to share were a gift that would last forever.
Only giving their all to each other, expressing the love they shared with sincere feelings.
They were finally ready.
"Do you promise to always be there for the other, apart or near?" They suddenly snapped out of their own thoughts when they heard a raspy voice inquire these important questions.
They both answered honestly with their respective cries.
"Do you promise to never forget one another deeply in your heart?"
Pikachu and Sylveon suddenly glanced at each other, quietly laughing at the irony of the question.
Again, the answer was positive.
"Do you accept Sylveon as your mate, Pikachu?"
"Pika! (Yes!)"
"And Sylveon, do you accept Pikachu as your mate?"
"Sylveon! (I do!)"
Professor Oak, who served as the one to tie the two together in their wedding, smiled happily as he said the final, most awaited words in the whole event.
The two Pokémon stared at each other's eyes. A pair of them was a deep shade of sepia and the other two were a beautiful kind of sky blue.
They slowly approached their new companion, walking even closer than they were before. Closer and closer, until pretty quickly, there wasn't any more space left with a soft kiss.
Between all the cheers and smiles, Ash turned around again to see that the empty seat was still empty. He usually was dense, but in situations like this, he knew something was wrong.
Dawn didn't contact me back when I asked her to come... Ash remembered with deep worry, a sweatbead going down his cheek.
Everyone else could come but her. Hmm... something tells me, it's not just bad scheduling...
But he didn't want to ruin his buddy's day in any way, so kept his sheepish grin from wavering.
