Jessilina screamed as soon as she got shocked by the Pokémon, and she let him fall to the ground. Pichu took this opportunity to try and escape, but the Meowth was faster and grabbed him again, making the Electric-Type even angrier.

"You're not going anywhere! Meowth!" the cat whispered to his ear so no one else could hear him speaking.

"P- Pi- Pichu?! (Y- Yo- You can talk human?!)" Pichu exclaimed with astonishment, flinching between Meowth's big hands.

"Meowth, yes!" he muttered again, "But you can't tell anybody because then Uncle Meowth could get caught! You don't want that for your uncle, right?"

"Pi- Pichu... (U- Uncle...)" The baby Pokémon stuttered again, too surprised by what was going on.

"Yeah, uncle," Meowth encouraged him, "Don't disappoint your Uncle Meowth, will you?"

Pichu's eyes narrowed with doubt: this Pokémon was calling him his family...

"Alright then." The professor struck his hands together with a smile. "I see Pichu's already getting along with your Meowth!"

Jamie chuckled. "Yeah, he's really friendly." The boy of lavender hair looked at the Pichu strangely. "You won't have to worry about him, he's part of our family now," he added.
--

"Welcome to our lair, Pichu!" Jessilina rose her arms into the air, signaling the great building above them. "This is your new home..." A smirk marked her features as she stared at him.

"There's been rumors about a powerful Pichu around, you know," she remarked, walking closer to the Pichu still trapped in Meowth's hands. "I was so giddy to hear the professor was just giving you away like that..."

Jamie chuckled under his breath. "What an idiot..."

"Indeed," Jessilina agreed, "Now the team can have you all to themselves. We can be the greatest team there is!"

"The boss will give us gifts!" Meowth shouted with sparkling eyes.

"Lots, and lots of them!" Jamie squealed as well.

Pichu sweat-dropped; these people really were weird already. But... he wasn't sure if he really disliked them. Maybe they really would be his family? Like the professor...

"Pi, Pichu Pichu! (I'll help you get what you want!)" he told them with a cheery grin, jumping out of Meowth's grasp and into the ground. Meowth gasped and was about to catch him again, but the Pichu launched an electric attack at a wall nearby.

The lighting jumped from the wall into a tree outside, and the tall plant got burnt to a crisp. Its now blackened figure fell to the ground with a loud thud, electricity sparks still surrounding it.

Now everybody gasped in unison. Even Pichu didn't think he'd able to do something requiring that much force.

"Pi... Pichu." Jessilina's mouth hung agape. "You truly are strong."

The trio stared at him with an admiring gaze, seeing their whole bright future in this little critter.

"Hmm, you know?" Jamie crouched down, until he was close to the same stature as Pichu. "If someone special like you is gonna be in our team, maybe we should give you a name..."
