Chapter 11 : The Betrayal and Poisoning

//Camp Half Blood//
Percy's POV
We were standing beside Thalia's pine when all the campers saw us. I could almost see a disappointed look on Luke's face. Strange. His face turned into one of celebration. He came running to me.
"Hey Percy. Everything go fine?"
I nodded,"Luke you wouldn't mind a spar in the forest right?"
"I'd love to."
After telling Chiron all the details I went into the woods where Luke was waiting with four cans of coke. A son of Hermes gets things from anywhere.
We took our stances and Luke lunged. I was shocked because his attacks were faster and deadlier as if he was trying to kill me. After a few minutes he started tiring while I parried all his strikes. I lunged at this moment and held my sword at his throat.
"I yield." He said. I gave him my hand and he got up. We went and sat on Zeus's fist where we drank the coke.
"Why were you attacking me more faster? Were you trying to kill me?"
"You were not supposed to return from the quest. That idiot Ares couldn't even kill you. Let me show you my sword." He said the last part out loud but I heard the whole thing. I now understood the last line of the prophecy. Luke is the traitor. He brought out his double edged sword.
"This is Backbiter. It can hurt mortals as well. I got it for my services to the Crooked One. And to take care you I've brought a friend." He brought a pit scorpion. Shit. It's bite could kill you within a minute. "I think you know what this is. I will take my leave." He threw the scorpion at me and vanished. What he didn't know was my real skill and weapons. I opened a crack on the surface and the scorpion fell right in. I was grateful for my powers of Hades. I ran towards the big house where Chiron was sitting at the ping pong table. He noticed me and asked, "Percy what's wrong?"
"It was Luke. Luke had stolen the bolt and helm. He's the one helping the Crooked One."
For the first time I saw Chiron look relatively scared. "Percy this is not good. An experienced camper has joined the side and most of the unclaimed camera might join them as well out of anger. We need to be prepared. Brendan has gone to his mother and will be back in the summers. We might need an year or so to prepare." I nodded. This was going to be an interesting year.
**Time Skip : 2 days before Brendan's arrival**

Percy's POV
It was a nice day. All campers may not be training but me and Annabeth were on our best. We used to train everyday with each other. Our bond increased but not in a romantic way. I was doing my patrol around the camp boundary when I saw the leaves of Thalia's tree turning yellow and I sensed a death aura from the tree. No it's not possible. I went and around the roots smoke was coming out. I went closer to it and smelled it. The first thing that came to my mind was poison.
"Funny things a poison can do right Percy?" A voice said from behind me.
I turned around to find Luke leaning from a tree.
"Why would you do this to Thalia, Luke?"
"Why would I do this? This is to show the Olympians who is stronger. By poisoning her I have hit two targets. I have showed them that no one is safe and the other is for me to know and you to find out." With that he vanished. I thought about who was the other target. If demigods were not safe at camp who will be blamed? Oh shit. Mr.D will blame Chiron for this. I need to inform this to Mr.D before anything happens.
I ran to the big house. I entered and Mr.D along with some man were sitting inside. "Mr.D where is Chiron and who is this man?"
"Chiron has been released from his job for awhile and this is Tantalas who is the new activities director. This is Perseus Jackson son of Hades." He said the last part to Tantalus.
Oh, a dead soul this is going to be fun, "Tell me Tantalus how do you get out?"
"None of your business boy."
"What are you a hunter or what? Calling me a boy. And anyway it is my business as you see I the current heir of the underworld." I summoned my helm and when he saw it he became more pale if it was possible.
"Lord, Lord Dionysus here requested it and I got here." I nodded and said, "Why was Chiron released?"
"Because of the poisoning of Thalia's tree." Someone already told him before me. I walked out and went to Annabeth, "Annabeth Thalia's tree was poisoned by Luke and Mr.D has blamed Chiron for it. Tantalus is our new activities director and I want you to bring Brendan back here by day after tomorrow. Things are about to get ugly as the barrier is weakened.
2 days later
Camp was in chaos. Annabeth had gone to pick up Brendan when two Colchis bulls broke through the barrier. I was currently fighting one of the bull on my own as I was fire resistant. The other campers were injured or fighting the second bull. I kept on tainting the bull and when it opened its mouth I shot an arrow into it and it burst. The other bull was going to hit one of the campers when I heard a loud voice, "I Annabeth Chase allow Tyson to enter the barrier."
I turned around to see a cyclops entering the camp.
"What the hell are you thinking Annabeth? Why are you letting a cyclops in?"
"He's with Brendan. They were together at school and I brought him here."
I turned around to see him destroying one of the bulls. And then there were none. Fun.
"Brendan you didn't know he's a cyclops?" He shook his head.
All around me people gasped. I turned to look around to see a trident on Tyson's head.
"Great first I have him for a half brother," I gestured at Brendan. "And now I have this for a half brother."
"Why are you so against Cyclopses?"
"Because one of his kind killed Thalia. Now she's dying again." I stormed away from there.
I was angry at all of them. Luke , Poseidon, Kronos. My life was hell.
What I didn't realize that it was going to become much worse.
