Chapter 12 : The Fleece

Percy's POV
Next day I woke up refreshed and I realized I had let my anger on Tantalus on the camp. I need to go apologize to Tyson. It's not his fault that he's a cyclops with the worst dad of the millennia. I went out of the Demeter cabin to see the beautiful sight of everyone working. Great. That idiot Tantalus thinks he rules the camp and Mr. D does not even interfere. Pathetic. I walk up to the Poseidon cabin and knock the door. Brendan opens it. "What do you want? Haven't you insulted Tyson enough?"
"I actually came to apologize to my half brother idiot."
I barged in and went to Tyson, "Hey brother. I'm sorry for yesterday. Its just that I was frustrated by the new activities director."
"You're my brother as well?" I nodded. "Yay! New brother." And he crushed me in a hug. Man that was a solid hug. "Goodbye Tyson. I need to do my daily activities."

I started walking towards the Athena cabin. This was my daily routine. Everyone except the Ares cabin hated Tantalus a lot. Some of my friends would go to my or Annabeth's activities while we worked out a plan to heal Thalia's tree. I entered the cabin to find Annabeth with a huge smile on her face. I guess she found something important.

"Guess what?" She asked

"You found a way to heal Thalia's tree." I replied nonchalantly.

"How did you know that?" She asked, clearly shocked.

"Annabeth you are predictable. While researching you don't rejoice until you have found a solution. Now tell me what is it."

"The Golden Fleece."

"Wait, what?"

"Yes Percy. The Golden Fleece is the only way to heal the tree." "You do realise that we will have to take this in front of Mr. D and Tantalus right?" "Yes I know that so let's go and inform them." "As you wish." We exited the cabin and started walking towards the Big House.

We entered the Big House and saw Mr. D and Tantalus sitting at the ping pong table. "Mr. D we have found a way to heal Thalia's tree." He gestured 'Go on'. "The only way to heal Thalia's tree is by using the Golden Fleece."

"Annabeth you know that it is located at a dangerous place that even mortals are afraid of?" "I know Mr.D that's why we would like to launch a quest." "We will propose the idea and quest at tonight's campfire. Now leave." Tantalus said before Mr.D could say anything. we left and I turned to Annabeth,"I was a little left out of the conversation but where exactly is the Golden Fleece?"

"Its located in the Sea of Monsters or what the mortals know as The Bermuda Triangle." With that she walked of and I was shocked to the core. The sea of Monsters? Oh well, its for Thalia.

At the campfire

We were seated around the fire when Mr.D and Tantalus stood up,"We have found a way to heal Thalia's tree." Tantalus said. The fire burned bright orange and rose showing the happiness and excitement of the campers. They found a way? Liars. Taking credit for what Annabeth did.

"The Golden Fleece located in the sea of monsters. We will order a quest that will journey through the sea of monsters to retrieve the fleece. The quest will be led by Clarisse daughter of Ares." Mr. D announced. Clarisse? They must be joking. The whole Ares cabin erupted in cheers and Clarisse was ordered to consult the oracle. Everyone started going to their cabin but I went towards Annabeth,"We are sneaking out tonight. Be ready and tell Brendan as well. He might want to go considering no one at camp likes him."

With that I started walking towards the beach. I sat down when a person in a jogging costume came and sat nearby me. I knew instantly who it was. "Lord Hermes, to what do I owe the pleasure?"

"Seriously cuz, no bowing? I'm a freaking Olympian."

"You are just my cousin for now as you are not on Olympus."

Yes! Finally someone interesting.

George he might hear you.

I was confused when I heard the voices, "Hermes did you hear those voices?"
"Of course I did. They are my insufferable companions George and Martha."
He took out a phone which turned into a staff of some kind with two snakes intertwined around it.
"Your Cadeceus."
"Yes Percy you guessed right. And these snakes are George and Martha."
Hello Percy.
Do you have any rats?
George, don't go asking everyone whether they have or not.
Oh well. It would have been good if he had rats.
"Hello George and Martha. Now Hermes why are you here?"
"Straight to the point. Percy I think Luke still has a chance to be saved. That's why I'm here to help you on your quest."
"How did you know I was going to sneak out?"
"Dear Percy, I'm a god. I know things. So let's get down to business. Here are three backpacks for your journey. They are stacked with money and a few special items. A Thermos of Winds which will release the four winds of the Earth and my multivitamins. They will help you in your journey. Now it's time to go." He got up and started walking but then he stopped. "Before I forget, you might need some help from the sea."
I groaned. Help from sea means, help from Poseidon. Damn. I might have to it just this once. Hermes has vanished and Annabeth turns up. "Tyson's also coming as Brendan did not want to leave him alone. I nodded and focused on the sea.
Poseidon I could use some help right now and maybe we can fix our relationship.
I got no reply but 4 hippocammi turned up. Brendan and Tyson had arrived by then and they climed on to the hippocammi.
I climbed onto my hippocammus and thought only one thing. How hard could it be?

Hi guys. I know it's been many months since I've updated and I am very sorry. I was caught up in exams initially but after that I just needed a break.
