16. Night of the awakening

"This is bad," Tatsumi though. "I can't have her going berserk. The two of them may be too much for me to handle, after all they're both jinrous like me." 

He knew he had to take her away. Firmly, he grabbed her hand pulled her towards him, "We're leaving. Now."

Arisu glared up at him but a thought quickly came in mind. "I could use this fool," she smiled to herself. As badly as she wanted to beat the crap out of Ken, she knew physical harm would never do, just as it did in the past. It took something more to hurt Ken and she knew just what it was. Slyly, she glanced over to Ken, making sure that he was watching her. Ken, on the other hand was raging with jealousy seeing how close Arisu was to the blue haired male. 

Arisu then turned to face Tatsumi who was glaring at his opponent. Unsuspectingly, he felt hands gently grab his  face. Not knowing what was happening, Arisu had pulled his face towards hers. She gently placed a kiss on his lips. Tatsumi was taken a back not sure how to react to this all. 

"Take your filthy hands off of her," Ken threatened in a low voice. The tension in the air became thicker and the murderous intent stronger. Baring his fangs, Ken charged at Tatsumi. 

"Tsk. Annoying. Get behind me and stay there," Tatsumi ordered as he braced himself. Arisu smiled at herself as she watched the two males fighting. "I could use this chance to escape," she thought to herself. 

While the two males exchanged blows, Arisu slipped out. "Hopefully Tatsumi will finish him off," 

After ensuring there was a great distance between them, Arisu stopped and thought for a moment. 

"Now what? I got my memories back but what am I supposed to do now. Get out of town? Hang around here and see what happens? Go back? Find Tooru?"She paused for a while. "Tooru, that's right,"

Flashback....

Arisu decided to hide within the bushes and observe what was going to happen, even if it meant putting Tooru in danger though she doubted that would happen. She saw Megumi sneak into the house while Tatsumi stood guard outside. 

"It's a good thing I waited here," she thought to herself.

Time seemed to have stood still for Arisu as she crouched in the bushes waiting for something to happen. The night was silent. Nothing moved. Nothing made a sound. She grew restless. The suspense was a bit too much for her. 

"What is she doing in there?" Arisu mumbled. She was growing impatient. 

A single sound broke the silence of the night. Megumi snuck out of the house once again. Arisu watched as the two conversed with each other. The night wind blew. Arisu felt a bit cold but it didn't bother her once bit. The wind then blew her way. She caught whiff of a sweet smell that made her mouth water. It was a feeling she was already familiar with by now. However, this smell made her tense even more. The smell reminded her of Tooru. 

Angrily, she rushed out of the bushes to confront the two individuals. 

Megumi was a bit shocked to see her. "A-arisu-san?"

Arisu rushed at her, noticing the red substance on her lips. 

"What did you do to him?" she angrily demanded. 

Megumi feared for whatever life she had left as she saw the anger building up in Arisu. Tatsumi stood between the two yet Arisu managed to pass through him and charge straight at Megumi. He had no time to stop Arisu throwing a punch at Megumi. Actually, he was surprised by that. He had expected this to happen. 

Arisu had managed to pin the other female to the ground. She covered Megumi's mouth to stop her from screaming out. Out of anger, she bared her fangs and went straight for Megumi's neck. Arisu didn't know just how hungry she was. She let her hunger take over. The sweet delicious liquid left Megumi's neck and flowed bountifully into Arisu's mouth. It was such an exquisite taste. Greedily, she gulped it all down. 

Tatsumi, who was watching this all happen, grabbed Arisu. But she clawed at him with her free hand and bared her fangs at him. Her crimson eyes glared at him, blood dripping down her chin. 

"Tsk. Troublesome." 

He managed to grab her wrist the second time only to have Arisu quickly twist around and send a roundhouse kick his way to which he managed to dodge in time.

"She's quick," he took mental note. 

He charged at her, hoping to end the fight as soon as possible. Tatsumi was surprised at the opposing female. She wasn't only fast, she was strong and skilled. A natural born fighter. Megumi watched in horror at them as they fought. She shuddered as she saw the two fight like beasts. She felt like she was the prey they were fighting over.

Tatsumi smiled at himself. It was the first time since he had a strong opponent such as Arisu. Despite the excitement igniting in him, he knew he had to end the fight soon. There were things to do and he couldn't risk having a scene right here. Humans might spot them. 

He examined her. He knew that this was probably the first time she's drank blood, so it's the first time she's used her latent abilities. 

"She's getting cocky too," he noted as she smirked at him. 

Arisu felt stronger. She smiled at her fist. She didn't fully get what was going on but she liked this feeling. Tatsumi threw a cocky smile her way as he motioned for her to come at him.

"Fool, you don't know who you're messing with,"she reminisced back to the days when she had street fights. Confidently she charged at him once more. 

"You've underestimated me," he mumbled. He knew that Arisu expected him to continue the fight, so she wouldn't suspect him to end it soon. Besides, he wasn't using his full strength. 

When Arisu was close enough Tatsumi quickly crouched down low and grabbed Arisu by the waist then threw her to the ground with full strength, instantly knocking her out. 

"I can't believe I had to use my full strength on you," he said looking down at her."Or maybe I overdid it," seeing blood flowing out of her head. 

"Monsters....you two are monsters," Megumi whispered.
