The whole month of November flew by in a flash.

I sit in the middle of my bed in a comfy sweater reading my mother's obituary for the millionth time since she died.

I still can't believe she's gone

I still can't believe she's gone.

Logan walks in the room, causing me to slam my laptop shut to avoid him seeing what I am looking at. It's nothing to be ashamed of. I just don't want a lecture about how obsessing over my mom's death is not good for my health.

I already know it's not healthy.

He crawls into bed with me "Everyone has left for now. My mom took the rest of the kids out to dinner. Except for Peter. He's out with friends or something." He smiles into our kiss. He wraps his arms around me and pulls the covers over our intertwined bodies.

I love these private moments we share.

Since we decided to try and make things work between us, we have had to be very cautious of our every move. We can't risk being caught.

By anyone.

We just need to keep everything about this a secret until one of us is able to move out of the house. Then our parents shouldn't be able to stop us from being together if we aren't living under their roof anymore. It's the perfect plan.

Keeping it a secret is the hard part.

We can't keep our hands off of each other or our lips apart. It is nearly impossible.

But we are making the best of the situation and we are making it work for us

But we are making the best of the situation and we are making it work for us.

So far, we've been able to keep it going for a month now.

He climbs on top of me and grabs the skin on my side where my shirt bunched up. His touch sends chills up my spine as we kiss.

Logan's pocket vibrates violently as his alarm begins to ring. "Ugh!" He groans and lifts himself off of me so that he can dig it out of his pockets.

"What is it?" I ask as he silences the alarm.

"That's my alarm to leave for work." He groans and leans his forehead on mine.

I grab his face and pout. "Don't go."

"I wish I didn't have to. But how else am I going to get money to move out and be with you?" He asks.

He makes a solid point. Unfortunately.

"I'm sorry." He kisses my lips. Hard. "I wish I could spend every second with you. This is getting too hard to hide."

"Just a little while longer. We can do it." I sit up in bed and help him fix his shirt. "Together."

I smile as he leaves the room.

"Have fun at work. I'll see you when you get back."

As soon as I hear the front door shut, I reopen my laptop and reload the page I was on to read some new comments on the post. I'm sure nothing has changed over the last few minutes but it doesn't hurt to check.

No new comments have popped up. I guess everyone has forgotten about her at this point. A few months pass and suddenly no one is sad to have lost her anymore.

Peter's nonplussed face pops up on my phone screen. I close my laptop and smile. I forced him to take this photo. It makes me laugh every time I see it.

He has warmed up to me just a little bit since we met

He has warmed up to me just a little bit since we met. We aren't the best of friends yet but we are definitely getting there.

I grab my phone and answer his call.

"Avery? I- I need- help."

Authors note: what do you think Peter is calling Avery about?

I just wrote a great chapter and I'm excited to post it. I just need to find the right time to throw it in!
