Authors note: back to third person point of view!

Avery's vision comes to. The driver of the vehicle gets out of the car and stands over her, along with a few witnesses of the accident.

She blinks her eyes in an attempt to get them to focus on the faces above her.

"Oh my gosh! Let me help you up." The driver grabs onto her arms and sits her up. "Let me take you to the hospital."

"No." Avery hears Peter's voice. "No." He tries to stand but he is still trying to shield the kids from flying rubble. "You can't."

"We should call an ambulance."

"The police."

"She needs help."

"What's wrong with him?"

"She's bleeding."

Bystanders watch the driver lift Avery off of the ground. "I'm taking her to the hospital. I did this, I will fix it."

Over by the play set, Tyler releases the girls after grabbing them to keep them safe from the crash. He looks up and sees the driver of the car, Avery's father, loading Avery into the back of his car. "Kara! Stay here with your sister. Don't move!"

Tyler runs towards the car. He knows her father is bad news and with him getting his hands on her, Tyler knows it isn't going to end well.

He joins Peter at the car, slamming their fists on the windows and trying to open the doors. Tyler and Peter yell for Avery inside the vehicle.

Avery is laid across the back of the seat of the car. She tries to open her eyes but the pain is too intense. Her dad reverses the car and drives off just as Logan and Leigh come running.

"What the hell just happened?!" He asks, seeing Summer and Mason crying on the ground.

"That was Avery's dad." Tyler explains, pulling chunks of his hair out. He is freaking out. He knows what is going to happen to her.

"He hit her with his car and then drove off with her." Peter scoffs.

"How the hell did that happen with all these people here?" Logan asks.

Peter shrugs. "Everyone just let him drive away with her in the back seat! No one here knows that he's a murderer!"

Logan looks around at the scene around him. "Leigh," he turns to his wife. "Please get the kids. Bring them all home. Immediately. Lock all the doors and don't open them for anyone. Peter and I have the keys to get inside. No one else does."

"Tilly and Kara are by the swings." Tyler adds, trying to be helpful even though his brain is going crazy right now. His girlfriend was just kidnapped right in front of him and there's absolutely nothing he can do about it.

"Okay, I'm on it." She nods and goes to help the two kids crying on the dirt. "Come on kids. Let's go get your sisters and go home."

Logan looks over at the very panicked Tyler. He can see the terror written all over his face. "He's going to kill her." Tyler sighs, feeling like he can't breathe.

Logan nods. He isn't even going to try to deny it to make Tyler feel better. Avery's dad has killed at least two people so far, there is no doubt in either of their minds that she won't be next.

"We've got to do something to stop him. We can't just let him get away with it. I mean, that's our sister."

Logan nods. "And once he's got her out of the way, there's nothing stopping him from coming for the rest of the family."

Tyler screams. He can't hold it in any longer. He is going insane just standing here doing nothing. "We need to go. Like, now!"

"Agreed. Let's go." Peter and Logan agree.

Author's note: I'm trying to figure out if I want to write a sequel / spinoff of this book. I just love these characters so much!
