Author's Note: I'm changing the point of view to a narrator for this chapter because it fits better. I'm sorry if this is confusing to you. It will be in the third-person omniscient voice. Thank you.

Even with a month to process, the news of her father's engagement to Hillary still hasn't gotten any easier for Avery to swallow.

Luckily, she has Logan to help take her mind off of it for a while.

Avery and Logan went to lunch earlier this afternoon before his shift. With it being a Saturday, the restaurant was packed but they enjoyed their alone time away from the family.

After lunch, they spent some time in his car, just the two of them.

After quite a while of alone time, the pair had to split for the next eight hours while Logan went off to work

After quite a while of alone time, the pair had to split for the next eight hours while Logan went off to work.

On his way home, he stops at the local grocery store and gets her a box of chocolates to cheer her up. He knows how much she loves chocolate. He also knows a small gesture goes a long way in her heart.

Logan just wants Avery to be happy.

He jumps up the stairs with the little red box of chocolates in his hand and knocks on her door, entering and shaking the box slightly when he comes into her view.

Avery thanks him profusely and dives right in. "These are so good!" And smiles and scratches at her throat before setting the box down on her lap. "Whats in these?"

"Almonds I think." He replies. Avery's eyes widen.

"I-" Avery struggles to force words out of her already swollen throat.

"What's going on?" Logan asks, grabbing her as she grabs violently at her throat. She points to her dresser. She needs him to grab her epipen. "Avery? What is happening? Avery?!"

Avery begins to convulse and collapses on her bed. Logan grabs on to her in an attempt to keep her seizing body on the bed. He doesn't want her to fall on the floor and hurt herself.

Avery's father runs up the stairs when he hears the yelling and commotion up above him. He bursts into Avery's room and sees the terrifying situation. "Avery? Avery sweetie?" He shakes his head.

She is unresponsive. The seizure has completely taken over her body and mind already.

"What's happening to her?" Logan asks frantically. He has never experienced a seizure before.

"She is having a seizure." Her dad says simply, trying to figure out how to solve this situation. "Did she eat peanuts?" He asks.

"She was just eating some chocolate I picked up after work and then this happened." Logan explains. Avery's dad picks up the box and sees the culprit of his daughter's reaction.

"These have peanuts in them. She's severely allergic to peanuts." Avery's dad moves his daughter to the floor so that the risk of falling off the bed is eliminated.

Avery continues to seize while on the floor.

"Oh god. Did I kill her? I thought the box said almonds." Logan asks, pacing in a small circle around her room while pulling at his hair.

"Call 911." Avery's dad says calmly. He is trying not to escalate the situation anymore than it needs to be. Logan stands still in his place, in shock. "Now Logan! Go!"

Logan runs out of the room and finds his cellphone in his messy sheets. His shaky hands struggle to find the correct buttons to push.

Avery's dad stands and searches her room for a life-saving epipen. Avery always keeps one somewhere nearby just in case something like this happens.

He finds one in the clutter on her night stand and acts quickly, dispensing it into her leg, hoping he is not too late.

Logan renters the room as Avery begins to come out of shock "They're on their way." He catches his breath and watches Avery's attempt to breathe from her doorway. He doesn't want to get too close and mess things up again.

Avery's dad sighs as the seizure and convulsions slow. He holds her in his arms on the floor and rocks with her slightly as she stares up at him. He smiles a bit when he sees the light in her eyes return as she looks at him. "I'm here baby. I'm right here. It's okay." He squeezes her, making sure she knows that she is not alone.

"I'm- I'm so sorry sir. I was just trying to do something nice. I know how much she loves chocolates and-" Logan scoffs. "I really didn't know she was allergic. She never said anything."

"It's not your fault Logan. She's supposed to read labels before eating stuff like that." Her dad explains. "I'm sure she was just excited for your gift and forgot for a moment." He sighs. "Unfortunately, that moment could have killed her."

Authors note: was the change in point of view too much? Should I not have changed it? I think it'll just be for this chapter.
