Author's note: we are back to Avery's point of view! Thank you for understanding!
Tyler crawls into bed with me, earning a half awake smile from me. He kisses me, hard. "Don't wake Kara."
"I won't." He says before kissing me again.
"How did last night go?" I ask him, feeling his hot breath run down my neck.
"Pretty good actually. Logan and I had a nice long chat." He kisses my neck softly.
"Yeah? What about." I grab onto his arm.
"You, mostly." His words cause my eyes to pop out of my head. What did Logan tell Tyler? This can't be good. "Actually, I wanted to talk to you about something."
"Sure, what is it?" I swallow, waiting for what he is about to say. My heart is beating out of my chest. I sit up, waiting for him to respond.
"We probably shouldn't do it in here, just in case it gets loud." Tyler motions to the still sleeping Kara. "I don't want to deal with the wrath of a tired pre-teen." He jokes.
I nod. "Okay."
I swear, I am going to kill Logan if he messed things up for me and Tyler last night by talking about me. Things were going so well for us. I really like Tyler and don't want to mess things up. I like where we are. I am so mad at Logan!
"Take your time though. Come down when you are ready. I'll make breakfast while you are getting up." He smiles and pecks me on the cheek with his soft lips.
My fingers linger on my cheek where his lips just pressed against it. He wouldn't kiss me if he was going to break up with me, would he? Would he make breakfast if he was just going to end things? Maybe this is his way of trying to make it easier on me?
I can't handle this.
I need to get ready as fast as possible so I can talk him out of whatever he is about to do.
I walk down the stairs and take a deep breath when I see Tyler at the table with two plates of eggs. "Sit, please." He says, grabbing the back of one of the chairs.
"Listen Tyler, if you are about to break up with me because of what Logan said to you last night, please don't. I don't know what exactly he told you but just give me a second to explain my side of the story before you go and make any crazy decisions." I beg. I don't want to lose him. I really like him.
Like, a lot.
"Avery," Tyler grabs my face and kisses me, effective shutting me up. "Don't be silly. Sit down and eat your eggs, please."
I sit down. "So, you're not breaking up with me?" I relax a bit, seeing the huge smile on his face.
"No, quite the opposite actually." He says before getting down on one knee, pulling a little ring out of his pocket.
"Tyler, no. Stand up please!" I grab his hands and stand with him. "I can't marry you. I'm too young. We are both too young. It's too soon. But I care about you. I really do. So much. But I just can't think about marriage right now. Not with everything that is going on in my life. Please don't make me say no to you."'
Tyler laughs at my speech. "This is not an engagement ring, silly. It's a promise ring. It's my promise to you to be here for you forever because I can see us being together forever."
"A promise ring?" I ask with a soft laugh.
He nods. "Promise me we will be together forever."
"Forever is a long time, Tyler."
"Exactly." Tyler's smile slowly fades the longer it takes me to give him an answer.
"I can't imagine myself spending that long with anyone-" I pause as his smile complexly fades away. "Except for you."
"Okay, now you've got me confused. I didn't think this would be so confusing." He laughs, a single tear rolling down his cheek. I wipe it off and hold my hand out.
"Which finger does it go on?" I laugh as he realizes what I am saying.
Author's note: there's only 5 more chapters for me to write after this one. How do you think it'll end?
