May 2005

I woke feeling unusual about the day. It took fewer than ten seconds for the vague feeling to seep in that it was the last day of my university, and we'd finally graduate, but it had nothing to do with it.

Fifteen minutes later, I was in the car with Uryu and Nel, heading towards the university.

We sat in traffic, Uryu impassive and silent in the front with Nel, but she was anxious. I work as a designer...I don't understand the point of this course, and I won't complain, even if I get a C-. "

I sighed, "You'll do fine, Nel... Just calm down."

Uryu gave her a sidelong glance. "Strategic management will help you if you ever decide to do your own business."

"Then, I'll call you Ichigo or somebody higher."

I was amused. "Not everyone has that kind of privilege."

"It's easy for you to say... Both of you are brilliant students, after all." She started running through her notes.

"You might forget everything like that."

She turns to me. "Tell me honestly, aren't you a little sad?"

I frowned. "About what?"

She turned and gazed out the window, heaving a long sigh, "Nothing." Then she turned back to her notes again.

Uryu drove around the corner and pulled up beside a petrol station. "I'll miss this place."

She mumbled, her eyes widened. "One of you has admitted."

"You were gloomy because we might leave," I noticed the petrol manager was at his window. He wound the mirror down, handing him his credit card.

"And Nel, you should come visit us there."

"I'm sad but," she beamed. "You bet, I will! Uryu."

"We're not going anywhere," I said, and for a minute, nobody spoke.

The Patrol manager was back with his credit card.

Uryu took it, and glanced at me from the rear-view mirror. "Not even home?"

It took me a minute to work out what he was referring to, and I realized the vague feeling I had in the morning was because of this.

"I knew it." He started the ignition. "You've forgotten about Karakura City altogether." He wrenched the car into gear and headed out onto the road again.

My Dad, along with my sisters, had asked me to visit them countless times, but... it's all because of her that I can't even see my family.

I hate her!

I hate her!

I HATE HER!

"Isn't it getting cold?" Nel turned the AC off.

I wanted to get out of here and loosened the collar around my neck.
