13th julyThere were a lot of women's photos scattered around the table in the kitchen as I and Uryu stood in deep thought of who the family would approve of.
"This is nuts." I cursed under my breath. "It would be so much better if it was an arranged marriage."
"It would be a lot easier if you'd loved somebody." Uryu resorted.
A thought lingered. Memories of the past and her confession crossed my mind. 'Damn! Why am I thinking about her at a time like this?' I rubbed my face ruefully.
The medicine that Urahara had given me worked well. The headache was gone. We were staring at the photos of the women that either I hooked up with or dated. I had no intention of settling nor did I love them. It was... physical from both sides, always.
Some of the photos were of famous celebrities that Uryu thought would be interested in an arranged marriage with me. The women I had dated before were famous too, but they were all selfish and after my money, which they could spend while dating me. So Uryu's bright idea didn't appeal to me the slightest. 'I don't get it. They will have the upper hand with the 15% shares, and they will all jump on the idea of marrying me with a deal like this.'
Uryu pulled me from my thoughts. When I looked at him, he held a photo of a girl with brown hair. He gave me a look as if I knew her. I blinked.
He made an annoyed face. "Her name is Mai Suzuka. You dated her, remember?" I shrugged at that, and he sighed slowly. "Nevermind.
"What about this one?" This time he went straight with the names. "Her name is Mayu. You've met her in the bar." And I told him she had a child. "How about Ran'Tao?" I told him she was too old for me and he resorted to, "You've never complained before."
"Before she was only in bed, and now she will be my wife."
Uryu kept showing me pictures of different women, and I kept on rejecting them. We didn't know how much time had passed.
"You mustn't be too hasty in rejecting them Ichigo, you should take your time and deliberately, slowly and carefully think before coming to any decision. Agreed?" He said, and I gave him a curt nod. "How about Shino?" I shook my head from left to right. "Well, that wasn't much of a deliberation, was it?" Uryu pressed.
"As far as I'm concerned, she was madly in love with someone else." I stated.
"Is there anyone who doesn't have a problem?"
"Are you done?" I exasperatedly asked.
"Senna?" Uryu held her photo. "You've dated her for three months and that's the longest you've held a relationship."
"You don't have to show me her picture." I hissed. "She was once rude with Yuzu and Karin and would sell the 15% shares when she got her hands on it after the marriage, and I'm not talking about her, it goes for all of them."
"Insulting Yuzu-cha and Karin-cha won't do." I saw a vein pop up on his forehead. "Why haven't you destroyed her whole career, Ichigo?"
I huffed. "This is the first time you've agreed with me."
After some time, he continued, "We can't waste time standing here. Wasn't Riruka Dokugamine involved with you?" And I told him that it was a one-time hookup. He was about to show me another picture, and I had enough.
"Let's talk about dealers and about the software meeting."
"No." He shook his head.
"Yes." I nodded, silently telling him that it was an order.
