My Own Place

Someone shook me awake. My eyes fluttered open and I saw Spencer.

"Hi," I said quietly.

"Hello," he smiled.

I nuzzled into my blankets, trying to keep warm. The window was open.

"I have to leave. Derek and Garcia will be home in five minutes, they just texted you," he sighed.

I gave him a quick peck on the lips and he climbed out of the window and went to his car.

*the next day*

"Jessica?" somebody hummed.

"What?" I snapped, throwing a pillow at them.

I heard a soft thump.

"First off, OW!" the voice screamed, causing me to laugh.

I opened my eyes to find Derek rubbing his head. He threw the pillow back at me.

"Hey! Let's not start a pillow fight here!" Garcia squealed, coming in the door.

I threw my covers over my head, bracing myself from the sunlight coming through my window.

"We have a surprise for you downstairs!" Derek exclaimed.

I ripped the blankets off of me and ran downstairs to the table, Garcia behind me and Derek strolling behind us.

I saw some pictures and a key. I turned around to see them smiling.

"Did you buy me my own apartment?!" I exclaimed and they nodded.

I ran up to them, giving them a hug.

"That's awesome!" I screamed, causing them to sigh in relief.

"Thank god you're happy! We thought you'd be offended..." Garcia trailed off.

"Are you kidding me? I do love living with you guys, but you need a room for the baby," I smiled.

"Thanks, sweetie. You can take Fang with you, by the way," Derek smiled and I squealed in happiness.

"And someone who's on the team just so happens to have an apartment close to you!" Garcia laughed.

I ran upstairs and packed all of my stuff into boxes. They already had a moving truck ready to go and my stuff was placed into it. I jumped into the car with Garcia, Derek and Fang, smiling because I finally had my own place.

"Now remember, someone from the team will be checking up on you a lot. So don't be sur-"

"Surprised when someone comes knocking on my door, got it Mom," I laughed, cutting her off.

She gave me a huge hug.

"I'm going to miss you, Jessie,"  Garcia cried, letting tears fall on my shirt.

"Me too," I smiled.

She released then Derek came up and hugged me.

"See you later, alligator," he smiled, making me grin.

Ever since I was little, he had said that to me.

"In a while, crocodile," I replied.

They walked to the car, and I forgot to say something.

"Mom! Dad!" I exclaimed, causing them to turn around.

"I love you!" I screamed and they smiled.

"I love you too!" they both screamed in harmony.

I walked towards my apartment with Fang by my side.

"Hi neighbor," someone said behind me. I turned around and saw him.  

Spencer.
