Wake Me Up

I was woken up by faint screaming. I sat up in bed and reached for Spencer, who I knew was not beside me. I got out of bed, slipping on Spencer's old cardigan and walked to my front door. I grabbed my key and my extra key to Spencer's apartment. I opened my door and walked to his apartment. I put my ear to the door. I could hear him screaming into his pillow. He was having nightmares again. I opened his door quickly. I went to his room as fast as my feet would carry me.

"Spence. Spence, wake up," I said quietly.

He woke with a startle, sweat glistening his forehead. I gave him a small smile. I pulled him to my chest and laid down. His breathing began to slow down when he saw me.

"A-are you really here?" he asked.

I nodded and he leaned up, kissing me as hard as he could. I was melting, falling for him all over again.

"Please don't leave me," he whispered.

I let him lay in my arms. I ran my fingers through his hair and hummed soothingly until he was almost asleep.

"I will never leave you again."
