I don't wanna be here anymore.
I've already eaten but now I was tired. And I could feel Justins eyes on me from across the table and I didn't like it at all.
I waited till Mike got back to the table after his speech to get some air.
Sitting in the same room and seeing him after all these years was overwhelming.
Excusing myself I left the ballroom and went out to the huge balcony that gave me a beautiful view of the lit up skyline.
"I'm surprised you're here." Interrupted his voice.
I just wanted some fresh air and quietness but I couldn't get that could I?
"And why is that?" I asked but kept my focus straight.
"Just didn't expect you to be at a place like this."
"Me either. And I don't think this is really your scene either."
"It isn't but Corinna forced me to come. She really wanted me to meet Michael and his girlfriend which is... you." He trailed off
"Yeah, I didn't wanna come either but I promised Mike I'd be here for him. It's a big deal for him."
"You look beautiful." He said after an awkward silence.
Just to make it more awkward.
I gasped. He couldn't say stuff like that to me, not anymore.
I closed my eyes and let out a deep breath and turned around to face him.
I was stunned.
He'd gotten so handsome. He already was before but now he was older and more manly. He jaw was sharper, he had a little stubble and you could tell he worked out.
His abs and biceps were visible through that tight fitting suit.
If only i could've had that body more than once.
Oh lord I couldn't be thinking like that.
"Please don't say stuff like that." I whispered
"I'm sorry. But it's true. You always look beautiful."
"Justin."
He closed his eyes almost like he was pain.
"You're not allowed to say things like that especially when you have a girlfriend. Who is very nice by the way."
"You're right I'm sorry."
"Stop apologizing you did nothing wrong."
"Yeah I did. I did so many wrong things that I regret."
"It's in the past now. What's happened has happened."
"I know but I'll never forgive myself for hurting you that bad when I said I wouldn't. I was stupid."
I didn't say anything. I didn't have anything to say really.
But after a few moments I spoke up.
"I forgive you."
"What?"
"I said I forgive you."
"But why?" He was really confused I could tell from that face he would always make. The same face he made when I first rejected him on his offer to take me out.
"You were scared. It was a mistake. I get that now. After time I got it. And I forgive you for it. But that doesn't mean what you did was right or that it didn't hurt me."
He was about to say something when I heard Michael call for me.
"Sel you out here?"
"Yeah"
"Oh hey there Justin."
"Hey man." He nodded
"Ready to go babe. All the important stuff is over and I know you're tired. So we can leave."
"Yeah. Come on."
"It was nice meeting you Justin. We should definitely have a drink sometimes." Mike said
"Yeah you to."
"Have a nice night Sweetheart."
I could've sworn I heard him say sweetheart. But it was probably just my imagination.
"You too... Justin."
