18th February 1992. 19:12.
It was a famous day in the wizarding world. Werewolf day.
Every February eighteenth, the full moon would take it's highest point in the sky. It is known for when werewolves have their most vicious attacks. As soon as the sun begins to set, the fun begins.
For some people, it was a feared day. Where they locked themselves in their houses, shut all of the curtains, and went to bed early. They would sing lullabies to their children, to re-assure them that as long as you were inside the house, you were safe.
For others, it was a day of daring, courage, violence, and, overall, heavy drinking. Men and women would hunt for the wolves, using muggle weapons as well as wands, and after a hard nights work, where people either found nothing or were seriously hurt, or even killed, they would go off to the pub and drink until they forgot what had happened.
At Hogwarts, all students were locked inside the castle, but things would still carry on as normal. Except for one boy. One boy would leave at night to the shrieking shack, and transform there, having the hardest night of the year. Every year.
That was Remus.
But instead of running, hiding, locking our doors, or getting drunk and hunting, Remus and I found ourselves preparing for the night ahead like the other innocent werewolves.
By locking themselves in chains, and waiting until this dreadful night was over.
"Why can't we do this by magic?" I moaned, attaching the chains tightly to two thick branches on a tree in the middle of the woods. I had been here once when I was a child with my parents. I could only remember some of my time there, including thepart of me and my parents being the only people in the woods. I didn't know how my parents found such a place, because it seemed so empty and alone, like nobody knew it existed.
"Says the muggle-born." Remus laughed, untangling the other side of the chains.
"Hey, you learn to do magic, you can't live without it!" I told him.
"How did you survive in Azkaban?" Remus asked me incredulously.
"Um, I didn't." I chuckled, pulling two halves of the chain so it was as tight as it could be. I flopped my hands by my side. "Well, I think that's as tight as they go." I turned to Remus. "You ready?"
"Oh yeah." He said.
"Do you want me to look away?" I asked him. He laughed.
"We've known eachother for how long, Dorothy? I'm not afraid to be topless around you." Remus laughed, taking his jacket off, and them unbuttoning his shirt, and then revealing the surprsing six-pack he had. Probably from all of this werewolf-y work outs.
"Wow. You're ripped!" I told him, nodding.
"Thanks!" He winked. He passed me the chains, and I began to tie them around his wrists. "I have to say, it's nicer having someone with me, than having to do it by myself."
"It's no problem!" I told him, smiling as I tightened the chains. He grimaced. "Sorry."
"Don't worry about it!" Remus said through gritted teeth as I tightened the other wrist. I moved on to his ankles. "But you don't have to stay with me, you know."
"Are you crazy?" I asked him, looking up from his ankles. "This is the most brutal night you'll have this year. Theleast I can do is be there when you wake up."
"I just don't want to rip you to pieces!" Remus said, as I tightened his ankles at the same time.
"Well, hopefully, these chains will stop you!" I said, standing up behind him. I put my hands around his stomach and put the chains around it, leading to his lower back. I began tightening them.
