"...So, if the right letters are put into the equation, you should-"
"Professor." A third year Slytherin, Sampson, interupted as I taught my class. He didn't wait for me to respond. "When will I use any of this in my life?"
I gave him a look. He said it so condesendingly. "Well," I said, strictly. "if you don't like learning it then you can leave." I gestured to the door.
"But, seriously." Sampson said, almost laughing. "Did this help in your life? Did this help you get out of Azkaban?" The class oohed.
"Azkaban is where you will end up if you don't get your head out of your ass, Sampson." The class laughed, and he was rendered silent.
"Now, if the right letters are put into the equation, you should be able to work out your chances of marriage." I continued. "That's your homework for this week. Figure out your chances of marriage."
The class finished, and the students shuffled out, waving briefly and smiling at me. The last lesson over. I sighed and got out some chocolate from my desk, and munched on it. I didn't even realise that a student had stayed behind, until he walked over to my desk.
"It isn't very smart, professor," Sampson spat at me. I put my chocolate down. "to insult me. You know who my father is."
I stood up. "I do know who your father is, Sampson. He's a bullying, disgusting washed up ex-azkaban death eater who executes animals for a living." I smirked at him. "He doesn't scare me."
He cackled. "He should. He doesn't just execute animals." He looked me up and down. "Though, I guess, you would fall under the animal category, wouldn't you!"
"You can try and scare me, or provoke me, Macnair," I told him, smiling at him. "but I am not your father. I'm smart, and I'm sensible, and I can kick your ass. So, go away and get your homework done." I gestured for him to scram. "Your levels aren't looking too good so I wouldn't waste my time, if I were you."
He strutted off, aand I rolled my eyes. Harry walked in and looked at me in confusion.
"What was he so grumpy about?" He asked, pulling up a chair opposite my desk.
"Just being an idiot!" I told him, sitting back down and breaking some chocolate off for Harry. "I've been getting that a lot lately. All of the Slytherins seem to hate me so much! Not that I'm surprised or upset about it!"
"Can you think of one nice Slytherin?" He asked, taking a bite of it.
"Well," I said. "You-know-who seems pretty nice!" We both chuckled and ate some more chocolate. "May I ask you something?" He nodded. "Who was that girl you went to the Yule Ball with?"
He almost spat out his chocolate. "Her name's Parvati. She's nice, but she's not exactly my girlfriend or anything."
I nodded. "Do you know who I think you suit?"
"Who?" He asked, turning a bit red.
"Ginny Weasley." I said, smiling at him.
"No." He said, almost too quickly. "She's Ron's sister."
"Ok, ok." I said, laughing. "Then how about that Cho girl? You seem to like her."
He went even more red.
"You like her don't you?" I giggled.
"Maybe." He said.
"I'm your godmother," I laughed. "you can talk to me about this stuff."
"That's more of a godfather talk." He laughed.
I put my hand to my heart. "Ouch." We laughed for a while. "So, are you nervous about the second task?"
"Am I?" Harry breathed. "I have no idea what it's about!"
"If I knew I would tell you." I said, sighing. "But Crouch has forbidden me because I'm 'bias and mentally unstable'."
"Didn't he slap you?" Harry asked.
"Yeah." I said. "I should report that, but I prefer punishing him myself." I winked at him. He laughed.
"You're a fantastic role model." Harry said sarcastically.
"But you haven't got any others!" I laughed. "Now, I won't keep you. I'm sure Hermione'll be waiting to nag you about the second task." I walked him to the door. "How about Hermione? But you two seem like too good friends to be together."
"Never." Harry said, waiting in the doorway. "We're best friends. That's all." I nodded.
"But she still looked lovely at the Yule Ball." He gave me a quick hug.
"Bye." He muttered.
"Bye, I waved, as he left. I waited at the door until he turned the corner, and he was out of my sight and somewhere else in the castle.
I fiddled with my necklace as I stood by the window, squinting for a sight of colour. Blue light kept flickering on and off as I cluelessly tapped my necklace, awaiting Sirius's letter. Suddenly, I saw two specks in the distance, coming towards me. A huge tropical bird, acid green this time, holding a parchment letter and, surprisingly, a bright red balloon. I took the balloon and put it on my desk, and ripped open the letter.
Dear Dorothy,
Weather still amazing here. PERFECT!! I miss you being by my side. I've got you a balloon that never pops or goes down. Just another little present.
Don't listen to those stupid Slytherins. They're just like their parents. I know you're not upset. It's not like you.
I'll see you soon. Enjoy the tournament.
Love you
-Padfoot
PS: Still wearing that necklace?
I scribbled out a letter.
Dear Sirius,
So jealous of you. Weather crap and icy over here.
Harry is amazingly nervous about the second task, but I know he'll do fine! He's just like James and Lily.
I talked to him about who he fancies, but it turns out that it's your priority.
Have fun.
He fancies a girl named Cho. She's a year older. Ravenclaw Quidditch player. Very pretty.
I miss you so much! Can't wait to see you!
Love you.

PS: What do you think?
