20th June 1993. 10:13.

My heart nearly stopped. My hands shook like they were electrocuted, and my lips trembled like I was about to burst into tears.

His face, driven with madness was staring at me. The headline in large black letters.

SIRIUS BLACK ESCAPES AZKABAN

I almost fell to the floor with shock. Sirius. He's out. He's free. He's mine again.

"Remus!" I shouted, my voice trembling. He still hadn't gotten out of bed yet, because he no longer had to work. "GET OUT HERE NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"What?" Remus moaned, angrily stomping in. "I didn't do anything-" He stopped dead in his tracks, watching the newspaper intently. "Sirius."

I nodded, and bursted into tears. "He's escaped."

He joined me on the floor, his hands over his mouth. We leaned on theback of our couch, and read the article together.

SIRIUS BLACK ESCAPES AZKABAN

Sirius Black, the most famous and dangerous prisoner of askaban, escaped yesterday in the dead of night. It is unknown how he did, because escaping azkaban has been rendered impossible until now.

Cornelius Fudge, Minister for Magic, found his cell empty that night, after visiting there for ministry business. In a state of panic, Fudge sent out a search party immediately, including several warnings around the entire of britain. Since then, he has been working terribly hard to contact international ministers for magic, plus the muggle ministers, to warn them of this terrible breakout.

The ministry warns you all to keep afe, and to report any sightings. Free wanted poster inside.

We mustremind you that you must not, under any circumstanced, go looking for Black unless supervised by the ministry.

"I know how he's broken out." Remus and I said together. We nodded to eachother. "Padfoot."

"Why do you think he broke out?" I asked him. "He always could. Why now?"

"I guess, he didn't want to leave you." Remus said, thinking hard. He had the same vacant look that Lily had when she was thinking. It must have been a smart people thing. "But when you left, he decided to break out of that hell-hole!"

"That explains some of it!" I said, trying to mimick the vacant look. "But that doesn't explain why he took three years to do so."

"True." Remus agreed. "So there must be another reason."

We thought hard for a long time, processing over reasons Sirius would escape. And then it hit me. Suddenly, like a ton of bricks.

"The same reason he was locked in there in the first place." I said.

Remus looked at me, enlightened. "Lily and James."

I nodded, and we said together. "Harry."

"Well, that's smart." Remus sighed, sarcastically.

"What?" I asked him.

"Well, everyone is going to expect him to go to Harry." Remus explained. "To kill him. nd when people start sighting him getting nearer to Harry, they will know where to look."

"Hogwarts." I agreed, finally seeing it. That's where he would end up.

So, that's where I wanted to be.

I heard the sound of apparating outside the front door, so I stood up to greet the wizard coming to see us. Once again, it was Dumbledore.

"I expect you've heard the news?" Dumbledore asked, letting himself in. We both nodded, getting ourselves up from behind the couch. But instead of sitting on the couch, he joined us on the floor. "I expect your happy?"
