"I knew something was up when Harry saw Peter on the map!" Remus told me as we rushed through the Hogwarts grounds to the whomping willow.

"I know!" I replied, holding Remus's arm. "Now I understand. Sirius didn't break out for Harry. It was for Peter." Anger and excitement filled me. "I can't wait to see that stupid little snitch!"

"Me too!" Remus said darkly. I looked at him.

"Remus." I said, slowly. "We're going to see Sirius again!" At that point excitement was my only emotion. My man. He's here. Waiting for me. Sort of.

"I know!" Remus smiled.

Remus picked up a branch from the whomping willow, and poked a knot in the trunk of it, making the thrashing tree freeze. Remus led the way into a hole of the trunk, and into a dark, stony secret passage way that led to the shrieking shack, where Sirius was waiting with Harry, Ron and Hermione. And Peter Pettigrew. We drew our wands, just in case we needed them. But with Peter, I was sure I wanted to use my hands instead.

"WE'RE UP HERE!" I heard Hermione shout as we entered the shrieking shack. I panicked. What had Sirius done to scare them? " SIRIUS BLACK -QUICK!" she screamed. Although I knew no harm would happen to anyone up there, her panicked voice made me run towards her. Remus and I hurtled into the room, wands pointing at the two people on the floor. Harry and Sirius.

Sirius.

My eyes connected with Sirius's, and for a moment I saw that look we gave eachother in azkaban. The one that told me he was sane. I smiled at him, and his face morphed into the crazed face I had seen on the posters. The face that haunted me in my dreams.

"Expelliarmus!" Remus shouted. Harry's wand shot out of his hand and clattered across the room. So did the two Hermione held in her hands. I realised a ginger cat was lying on Sirius's chest, and I stifled a laugh. I never thought I would see something like this. Ever.

Remus stepped towards Sirius, but I stayed where I could see him, letting Remus take the reign.

"Where is he, Sirius?" Remus spoke tensely. Sirius looked at him blankly. Then he raised his arm and pointed at Ron.

I gasped. The rat, I thought. Ron's rat. That was Pettigrew.

"But then..." Remus muttered, staring at Sirius. "...why hasn't he shown himself before now? Unless-" his eyes widened. " unless he was the one... unless you switched... without telling me?"

Sirius nodded. I smiled. He could think straight. A good sign.

"Professors?" Harry interrupted. I looked at him. He looked mystified. "what's going on-"

But Remus didn't let him finish. Remus lowered his wand, took Sirius's arm and pulled him up, the cat jumping off of him. And they embraced, old friends, reunited. I almost cried when they let go, and Sirius walked over to me, put his arms around me, and pulled me in for a kiss.

It felt like the world was mended. Like someone had sewed me back together. Just for his lips to be touching mine. It was amazing. It was special. I forgot about life for a moment, until I heard Hermione shout again.

"I DON'T BELIEVE IT!" she screamed. I let go of Sirius and looked at her. She was full of anger. Her eyes were wide as she looked at Remus and I, shocked. "You - you-"

"Hermione-" Remus said, putting his hands up.

"-You and him!" She shouted. "And you and him!"

"Hermione calm down-" I told her gently.
