18th June 1996. 20:47.
"Holy crap." I muttered, whipping out my wand.
Sirius shouted to the Order. "There's no other option. We're going to go and save him and his friends."
We all shouted in agreement and stood up. There was only six of us. Me, Sirius, Remus, Moody, Tonks and Kingsley. Everyone headed for the door, buzzing and tapping their wands. I ran near the front, with Remus and Sirius. I was shaking with anger and fear.
"I can't believe this." Sirius growled. He was also shaking. "I need to save him!" He said this more to himself than anyone else. He looked a bit unstable. But maybe I did too. "He's the only thing left of James. He's my godson." He repeated this until we got out side, and we apparated together, all thinking of the same place.
We all bounded into the door, wands at the ready, prepared for battle. I shot a spell at Lucius Malfoy, who dodged it messily. Spells rained down on us, and I quickly dodged them and sent some stunning spells everywhere, screaming and shouting. I ran forward, to spread out, and shot a few more spells. I stumbled back, and felt my nose get hot and saw. It was bleeding. I sniffed and wiped it a bit, but it continued to pour out, so I ignored it.
"Reducto!" I shouted, aiming for the death eater that gave me a nose bleed. He reflected it, and shot a spell at me. I dodged it, and we went into a full on duel. I didn't even know what spells I was using. It was like my wand knew what to do.
I looked over to where Harry was, and he was on the floor next to Neville. I didn't have time to linger, so I turned back to battle, sending Rictusempra to the death eater duelling me.
It was chaos. I couldn't even see if people had died. It was pure battle. Everytime I heard a scream I would panic, because I thought someone I cared for had died or gotten hurt. My heart was in my mouth. I could hardly breahe. And that wasn't even the worst part of it.
It was quite a way in when Dumbledore appeared, furiously dueling. I had never seen him so... Scary. He distracted me, and I got blasted backwards against a wall, and I couldn't find the strength to get up. Plus, my wand was lost. So, instead, I watched, my breath quick and frightened.
Everyone stopped when Dumbledore appeared, except for two people, who were too engrossed.
"Sirius!" I shouted, as he fought wildly with his deranged cousin, Bellatrix. He was laughing at her.
"'Come on, you can do better than that!" he yelled, his voice echoing around the room I knew as the death chamber, according to Kingsley.
Bellatrix laughed, and threw a curse at him. It hit him straight in the jaw. His eyes widened, his body curled, and he fell back, into the veil behind him.
Sirius's eyes were no longer safe. They looked an awful too much like Lily and James's. When they died.
Bellatrix let out a triumphant scream. I ran to the veil.
"SIRIUS!" I screeched.
I couldn't breathe. Something had snapped inside of me, and my eyes burnt. I screeched and screehced and ran to the curtain, but collapsed on the way. I grabbed a wand on the floor.
"Crucio!" I screamed. I hit Bellatrix, and she screamed a little.
My heart was stopping. I couldn't breathe. I felt like nothing. Nothing at all.
He was gone. Sirius was gone.
Half of myself was gone.
"SIRIUS!" I screeched again. "No! You can't be dead you just can't!" I dropped the wand. My screeches filled the chamber, in harmony with Harry's. "You can't be dead! You. Can't..." I dropped the wand, and collapsed into sobs. "Sirius..."
I felt hands. Somebody grabbed me.
"Dorothy." Tonks said, giving me a hug. "I'm sorry." I sobbed loudly on her shoulder. "I'm sorry."
That's how I lost him.
How I lost my something. How I lost my something that can keep you together like a glue. How I lost my something that can bring out your assets and dissolve your flaws like makeup. How I lost my something that can calm you down or motivate you like a drug. How I lost my something that you can connect and fit with like a jigsaw. How I lost that special something. How I lost my someone. My person. My wizard. My angel.
That's how I lost Sirius Black.
