Chapter 9 - New wheels

Lookout Point. I tried to get out of the car but then Cross runs up to me and closes the door. "Sit down!" Cross said as he closed the door. "Okay, you win this time. What do you want from me?" I asked as I raised my hands in the air and acted sarcastic. "How you've been? It's time to settle a little score from Rockport, you think?" Nathan asked. "Yeah for sure. But you still owe me for apprehending the blacklist racers and including the Griffin guy." I answered as we witnessed an Audi Le Mans Quattro driving up to us. "I don't remember asking for your help, Crog. What makes you think you can bounty hunt in Silverton without my approval?" Josh asked. "It's Cross, and this guy is from out of town." Nathan answered. "Been a long time, kid. What's his bounty?" Josh asked. "A hundred and fifty k." Nathan replied. I got out of car and I looked at my M3. "My baby, my car. It's the machine my mom used to work on when I didn't even exist and before I was born. *sighs*" I said in my mind as I gave a sigh and a tiny drop of tears started to drip a little before I started to cry because I broke a car that was part of the family and my heart. However I wiped it away. Josh, Nathan and I witnessed a Ford GT coming down the pass. "Huh, Cordelia. This should be interesting." Josh said. Cordelia got out of car and walked in rage to attack me. "How dare you show your face here." Cordelia said as she attempted to attack me but then Josh stopped her. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, Control yourself." Josh answered as he grabbed Nikki and carried her. "Let go of me." Cordelia replied. Cross drives off and leaves the area. "Jesus, why you have to gang up on me even though I haven't done anything wrong." I said in my mind as I gave a weird look. "That was a weird night you took off, but I know you're into some serious cash. Cordelia, why don't you show your old friend the rules." Josh commanded. "You've gotta be joking right?" Cordelia asked. "No of course not." Josh answered as he gave a kiss on the forehead to Cordelia. "Don't disappoint Branden. Not again." Josh said as he went to back to his car. San Juan. Cordelia drives me to a parking lot that where the new cars are. She and I got out of the car. "Hey uh... who's the third wheel?" Dominick asked. "Josh set up a few cars for you to choose. Pick one, whichever one you like." Cordelia answered. "Hey, if there's three do I get one? I mean I don't care which one, although I am partial to the one with the sweet rims." Dominick asked again. "Why don't you make sure the gas tanks are filled." Cordelia commanded. "That's great... I'm the monkey!" Dominick replied. "Pick one kid, let's get this over with." Cordelia said as she got in her car. "Hm... I am gonna go with a Brera. It's an Italian sports car so I don't care." I said in my mind. Salazar Street. "Come on Dominick. I got no time for this." Cordelia said as she saw Dominick making a spin and reverse when taking long. "Cordelia's good. Just listen to her. And I'll stick around and I'll help out and make sure she's not too hard on ya." Dominick commanded. " *chuckles* hehe. Let's do this." I said. After a few minutes later. "Well kid I guess I am done teaching you for now. Later Dominick." Cordelia said as she drove off. "Well kid. Guess it's just you and me. Let's go find some trouble." Dominick said. I nodded at him and we drove off from San Juan to to Highway 142. Highway 142. "So Branden, you've been gone a while. You're out in Rockport huh? Man a lot has changed since you took off. There are tons of crews in this town, everywhere man, crazy!" Dominick said. I saw a black and white police car on the left side of the highway and u turned in our lane and started chasing us. "Look out, cops!" "Watch this!" Dominick said as he slammed on the brakes and sideswiped the cop cars and disabled them. "Who's the coffee grinder baby? Haha haha!" Dominick exclaimed. "I've got your back Branden. I'll lose the heat. Stay on the pedal." Dominick said. "Now I've got the 5-0 on me and I've definitely gotta step on it." I said in my mind as I shifted from 3rd to 4th gear. Moments later. "Josh gave you the safe house. You can use it to fix your car, or chill out when the heat's on. You need a wingman, and it looks like I'm in. Let me show you inside. Your friends came here to see you too so you should come in too." Dominick said as he assisted me to the safehouse and we went inside. "I wonder what this place is. Maybe back in Rockport I guess." I said in my mind. In the safe house. When I went inside, I saw my mom, Ellie, Gillian, Jordan and Letty. "Thank goodness you're alright my baby. I missed you and I was worried you might not make it." Adena cried as she gave me a big hug while I hugged her back. "It's okay mom. I'm here now and I made it to safety." I answered as I pulled out of the hug and I gave Ellie a hug too. "Are you alright Ellie?" I asked. "Yeah I am fine. I'm just relieved that you made here." Ellie answered. "Branden. Where's the M3?" Adena asked. "Mom, we need to talk outside." I said as I escorted her outside of the safehouse. "It was totaled on the way here. Cross came out of nowhere from behind and bumped me when I almost lost control. But then we approached a semi truck. I tried to escape but then he stopped me so the car is totaled mom. I am so sorry." I said as I gave a sigh. "It's... okay, Branden... I'm not mad at you... I'm just a little disappointed..." Adena answered as she went back inside. "Let's try to fix it when we find it, you know it may be in different safehouses if it's there." I said as I followed her back inside. "Yeah, you have a point. Once we take over our enemies turfs, it can be in one of their safehouses." Adena answered.
