Chapter Eighteen

*Next Day*

Melody P.O.V

I’ve been up all night trying to write a song, but I still have nothing. I woke up in the morning and got dressed for school. I got my things ready, ate breakfast, and finally walked outside. 

“Melody wait up!” I turned around and saw Jenna and Ross running towards me. Ross slept over Jenna’s because he didn’t want to bother me while I was writing the song.

“Hey Jenna.Hey Ross.” I said with a glum face. “Okay, why so glum?” Ross asked. “I’m not glum.” I said. “Yes you are. Your glum.” He said. “No Ross I’m not glum.” I said. “Melody stop lying. Your glum about something.” He said. “Can we please stop using the word glum!” Jenna yelled. 

“Okay fine.But seriously Melody. Why are you so glu- I mean sad?” He asked. “I wasn’t able to write the song. The MoonLight Jam is next week and I still don’t have a song!” I yelled. Ross grabbed me by my waist and kissed me gently on the lips. It kinda helped me calm down a bit.

“Get a room!” Jenna yelled. Ross released me and we continued our way to school. “I just don’t know what to write.” I said. “I’ll help you. While we’re in music class.” Ross said. 

I smiled and pecked him on the lips. “Thank you.” I said. “Come on who’s the best boyfriend ever?” He asked. “Rocky is!” Jenna said. We all shared a laugh and finally reached school. 

Joelle P.O.V

I was home with the flu. Sadly I won’t be able to see Riker or anyone else today. It’s odd because he won’t answer my texts at all. Maybe he was-

“Hey babe!” Riker said interrupting my thoughts. “Riker? Why are you here? Aren’t you supposed to be in school?!?” I yelled. “Well yeah but I thought it would be pointless cause your not there.” 

“Aww Riker that’s soo sweet.” I replied. “I brought you some soup and flowers. As well as a couple of tissues.” He said. He sat down besides me and put the soup on my dresser. “I’m taking care of you today.” He said. 

I smiled. “Thank you.” I replied. He leaned in and tried to kiss me but I pushed him away. “What? Is it a crime to kiss my own girlfriend?” He joked. “No. I just don’t want you to get sick.” I replied. “I’ll take a risk.” He said. 

He hovered over me and kissed me. I pushed him away from me gently. “I love you.” I said. “I love you too.” He replied. He kissed me once more and laid besides me holding my waist very protectively. I felt safe in his arms. 

I love him. 

*Music Class*

Ross P.O.V

Melody and I were sitting next to each other writing a song. I noticed that Jocelyn looked pissed. Maybe she was jealous. Since she cheated on me I think it’s best if I have a little fun. 

I lifted up Melody chin and when the teacher wasn’t looking I kissed her. I released just in time too before the teacher noticed. 

“What was that for?”She asked. “Just wanted to have a little fun.” I winked. She smiled. “Let’s go in the orchestra room where it’s more private then.” She winked back at me. I chuckled and followed her into the orchestra room. 

Jocelyn P.O.V

I can’t believe he did that! Truth is I still like Ross and I feel bad for what I did to him. But now Melody has him and I don’t. I hate her soo freakin much! 

“Hey Jocelyn guess what?” Kali said. “What?” “Melody and Ross are like totally having a make out session in the orchestra room. Plus they dropped this piece of paper behind.” She said as she handed me the paper. I studied it. 

“This has to be the pages to one Melody’s song they wrote together.” I said. “I know and to be honest it’s really good.” Kali said. She was right it was really good. “Do you think there’s a chance for her to win?” Kali asked. “With those lyrics yes I do.” I replied. 

“Okay then we’ll just have Rydel write another song!” Kali said. “No! We can’t use her again. What we need to do is make sure that Melody can’t perform in the Moonlight Jam.” I said. 

“And how do we do that?” Kali asked. I looked around the room and started to think. Then I finally noticed it. “Kali, I think I have an idea.” I said. “What is it?” “The money saved up to by the new instruments!” I replied. “Okay. What about it?” She asked. 

“What if we take it and say it was ‘stolen’ by Melody.” I said. “Jocelyn your a freaking genius!” Kali yelled. “I know. Now meet me during lunch. I have a brilliant idea!” I said.
