I was shoved back into the cell after Natsu finished off with me. He dematerialized into thin-air and didn't show any hint of coming back.
"I swear, these vampires are so friendly," Gray commented grimly, face in hands.
"Yep." Gajeel was back in his 'pose', flayed out on the floor, a hand under his chin. "Y'know what could make this situation better? A song~!"
"NO!" I screamed, lunging for Gajeel. Anything but a song. That would be bad. No, scratch that. That would kill me.
"Aish, Mavis curse you," he mumbled, throwing me off, and sulking in the corner, I felt guilty, but, Gajeel's songs are plain nasty.
Sitting down on the floor, I faced Gray. He seemed to be staring at me intently. "What's up?"
"How're you taking this so calmly?" He asked, "I mean, you've just been told that you've been kidnapped by Vampires. And most of them are pure-bloods."
I glanced down, letting my aquamarine fringe hang over my face, "It's better than panicking? What good will that do?"
Gray just nodded, a straight face on his... face. "Good point. Hey, look-!"
Footsteps seemed to be approaching us, and Gray and I quickly went to the bars. I put my hands on the rods, trying to peer into the darkness.
"I'm back..." Came a reluctant voice. Lucy. "I don't feel good, guys. Help me."
As she approached the white glare of the single light in the cell, I made out her features. Virgo seemed to know her stuff.
Lucy was wearing a long, knee-length gown, fitting her voluptuous figure perfectly. Other from that, it seemed downright uncomfortable; a tight corset-like waist, and jutting below the hemline, around six-inch heels.
"Well?" she pursed her lips, "Stop staring at me," Lucy said, snapping me out of my daze.
"Uh-huh." I muttered, ashamed of myself, "Right so-" I was cut off when a mysterious force opened the cell door and shoved Lucy in.
I was lucky to be wearing dress shoes; Lucy, on the other hand, wasn't lucky, ironic.
She fell, almost twisting her ankle, and cussed a long line of words that would've caused Miss. McGarden to wash her mouth.
"I hate these things!" She propped her leg up and tried to get the darn shoe off. I couldn't help but laugh at her.
I'm so dead.
Lucy gave me a pointed glare, before giving up and leaning against the wall. "What now?"
"I think we wait."
"Yeah, no schist sherlock, of course, we wait!" I growled drily at Gray.
"Where're the other two? The stalker and the kitty?" Gajeel asked, causing Gray to mumble something that sounded like 'thank-god-she's-not-here-but-I-hope-she's-OK'.
Talk about two-faced.
Lucy shrugged, "Virgo said that they had business with some girl named Ezra, or something. I hope they're alright." she sighed, and hugged her legs.
I, on the other hand, sat bolt upright at the name, "Ezra? Are you sure you heard right?"
Lucy just shrugged again, making me want to go up to her, and slap her. Honestly, sometimes, Lucy could be a pain in the podex.
"Someone's here!" Gray jumped up and ran up to the cell door. I raised my eyebrows at him, putting a hand through my hair.
"How do you- Oh." I saw a silhouette, barely noticeable, approaching us. There seemed to be a golden flicker - perhaps a torch?
As they neared, I realized it was her again. A blazing torch clutched in her right hand. She saw me looking and gave me a smirk.
"My Mother has requested your presence in court." she said, coolly, "I wonder how you four will fare."
~~~
"Sooooooo~, Erza was it?" Gray attempted to talk to her, as we trudged along what seemed like an endless corridor, "Or is it 'Ezra'?"
I snorted, while the woman chuckled under her breathe, "What d'you think it is, Gray Fullbuster?"
Gray was instantly on guard, his expression alarmed, "How do you know my name?" he hissed, stopping abruptly.
The woman turned, this time I could see an expression on her face that I had never before - embarrassment.
"M-My Mother seems, er..." a blush was steadily making its way across her cheeks. As she hesitated, I took in her features.
I realized that I was a good two inches taller than her, which instantly made me think of evil things.
Snap out of it, Jellal!
"Jellal, you coming?" Gajeel asked, pushing me from behind, "Where the heck is that pea-sized brain of yours?"
Embarrassed, I followed them. Never quite finding out how 'Erza' knows Gray's name.
Lucy huddled up against me, earning a grunt from Gray, "She's so pretty!" she whispered, "No wonder she's the daughter of Queen Belserion!"
I nodded without thinking, earning a laugh from Lucy, "You were staring at her like a mouse who found its hunk of cheese, earlier!"
"Oh, shut up!"
"We're here." Erza suddenly piped up, Gajeel crashed into her, earning him a death-stare from her. Point noted: Don't mess with Erza.
She seemed to take a breathe in, closing her eyes, before turning and facing us, "It's you guys now." It was obvious she didn't like her mother.
In a flurry of scarlet, she disappeared. I sweat-dropped.
"That'll never get old, will it?" Gray commented.
"Nope."
I pushed open the large chamber doors and closed my eyes; braced.
