A young boy was seated on the windowsill, moonlight ornamenting his face. The silvery glow was spreading across his room, a silhouette of a bed made out in the inky shadows of midnight.
"Brother?" the boy turned, the voice abrupting his thoughts. His half-sister was standing by the door, a scowl placed on her pale lips as her eyes scanned the almost-empty room, "Mother's home."
The boy's eyes lightened, a warm luminosity coming from their mahogany depths, "Where is she?" he asked breathlessly, brushing past his sister, skulking across the corridor.
"U-Uhm," her voice shook, lips quivering in uncertainty. Her hesitation stopped the boy in his stride, as he turned around with a piercing stare.
"Well?" in the well-lit corridor, it was easier to make out the features of the boy; bronzed skin, miniature lips, a hooked nose, and coffee-colored almond eyes. His unruly black hair had scarlet highlights, fringe falling on his forehead.
"Where?" was all he asked, head down. His square-jaw jutted out, the shapely features of his face calm. Deadly calm.
The girl pointed down at the landing, where a large oak-wood door stood, tall and erect. It was open slightly, a tiny wink of the outside world, letting in the pitter-patter of rain into the large entrance hall.
A piece of paper was left on the side, crumpled up with torn edges. He raced to the coffin, the girl on his heels.
"Love, Death." The Boy's voice fluttered against the paper, as the breath was knocked out of his lungs. The repeated the two syllables. The girl's eyes were closed, breathing labored beside him.
Like poison, he spat the words, the cursive memorized in his head,
"Love,
Death."

Hi, guys! I think most of you have seen "Daughter of Death" - an original that I had begun to write... but took down, since y'all know I procrastinate a hec c c lot.
I've started to rewrite it, and I think it'll be published (fully complete) in a couple of months, maybe a year, depending on how free I am.
