"Where's she heading?" I whispered to Gray, who was shaking. We had been treading along in her tracks for what seemed an hour, and the sun was getting close to setting.

The wind ruffled leaves in trees, an eerie gloom flitting about us, "I have no clue, why're you asking me?"

Gray gave me a pointed look, "You are her fiancé, Jellal" He shoots, making me wince. Ultear and I had been very close when we were younger, but we went to different high-schools; therefore, causing the drift.

"Yeah, and? You really don't seem like the person to support arranged marriages, Fullbuster," I toothly grinned at him, as Gray rolled his eyes. He was fidgeting with his fingers, contracting and relaxing his tendons nervously, "H-Have you figured out your power, yet?"

Gray bit his cheeks, giving me a stare, "You remember the sword-incident- God, it feels like years ago!"

I nodded, flinching away as a dart of silver rose from his hand, "Well. I- I don't think Natsu really understood what happened. I didn't claim the sword, and it didn't claim me or whatever.

"Then?" Carefully, I stepped over a straying twig. A heavy-night breeze was rising in the air, making my azure hair rise and fall. I narrowed my eyes, as ochre-specks of dirt and dust swirled in the air.

"I- I think I turned the sword to ice."

It took a moment for me to realize that Gray wasn't joking - that he was in fact, very seriously, telling me the truth.

I swallowed a lump in my throat and rest my gaze to the ground, "Well, that's quite... interesting. But you wouldn't feel the ice- no, nevermind. I can't say anything. I use the stars or something."

"Better watch out, Jellal, or I could turn you into an ice sculpture." He joked and playfully bumped my shoulder.

I stumbled and hopped onto one leg, the impact of his push being a little too strong. A twig snapped from beneath my feet and my eyes narrowed as we both froze in place.

We didn't dare move a limb or two. Ultear had stopped in her footsteps, posture unusually tensed, and instantly I knew we were caught.

As her back turned around, I felt a grip on my arms jerking me behind a tree. I began to speak as a hand slapped me on my mouth, muffling whatever I was about to splutter.

Gray cautiously peeked out from behind the tree, before stifling a scream. I guessed the rest, leaning my forehead against the tree and hitting it.

"Jellal?" A stern voice spoke up, anger evident in the tone, "Weird black-haired dude?"

"It's Gray, lady," Gray said, annoyance practically bouncing off of him in waves, "And who are you?"

"Don't play games," The woman appeared from behind the tree, and glared at us, her arms crossed; Ultear. Her expression showed that she was half-impressed and half-annoyed.
