"Sorry?'

"Sorry?'

"Oh, um," My vision was still blurry. The light in the corner of the room looked like a fuzzy circle, enveloping the room is a soft amber glow.

"I like pandas," I took another sip from the half-empty bottle, the raw taste burning the back of my throat. A blush spread across the expanse of my face as I continued to mutter something unintelligibly.

"Wow, so I'm a panda now?"

I opened my mouth, and closed it, biting the inside of my cheek with nervousness racing around my veins, "I- yes. No. I mean- Hell yeah, baby." I slapped my hand over my mouth, ducking my head as embarrassment swallowed me down mercilessly, to the point of no return.

"Did you just-" Erza glared at me, her irises widening in surprise, "Did you just fricking say-"

"I don't know what you mean, I said nothing," I grinned coyishly, getting up onto my feet and pacing the small room. There was a single couch in the corner, and the walls were heavily graffitied. Pretty, in a way; the graffiti showed the history of the place. Everything it had seen and been through.

Since the first time I met Erza, this was the first time it felt like a normal friendship. And it felt nice. I felt brave, "Kiss me, honey."

I sat down on the couch, sweeping dust off the knitted cushions. The booze was slowly going to my head. I wouldn't be awake much longer. Erza just glanced at me with rage burning in her eyes, and then took a step towards me.

    I closed my eyes.

"Snap out of it, you idiot!"

I choked. Gasping and wiping my fringe back from my sweaty forehead, I clutched my now-throbbing cheek, which was pale from the impact. Erza had just slapped me.

Of course, she did, you moron. You were being highly inappropriate.

    "Er- what?"

"How- how dare you tell me to kiss you, you flipping, blithering, stupid little blueberry," Erza stepped away from me, her hands balled into angry little fists. She flicked her hair, and turned her back to me, having a staring-fight with the dark brick wall surrounding us.

Her words slapped me harder than the actual hit to the face, and I got up immediately, taking a stride towards her and pulling her into a kiss. I smiled against the warmth, and just breathe for a second. We were going to try to take down Acnologia in a few hours. We would be restoring the Vampire Kingdom of an heir, and a soon-to-be-rightful queen.

    We could all die soon.

"Je-" Erza pushed me away slightly, grinning wryly, "That was disgusting, you taste like alcohol."

I laughed, pulling her against me, and hugging her lightly, "Oh, shut up. It was great. I am great." I chuckled under my breath, my vision slowly getting hazier, as she dragged me to the couch. There was a small hole in the roof, where a misplaced brick jutted away from its neighbor, pouring in the light of the sky.

"We're going to survive," I mumbled, allowing my body to just lay down, tired, on the couch which had given up doing its job years ago, "Together."

    "Together."

A high-pitched squeak resonated around the square room, "Rise and shine- Oh, god. I am so sorry!". The speaker quickly exited the room, from the sound of their footsteps, and shut the door right behind their heels.

"What in the-" Last night's memories flooded into my head, and I choked.

Oh, my days, Jellal. You did not- You need to quit drinking.

But, like, you finally said it. The truth.

At the wrong time, in the wrong place-

"Lucy." A scarlet-headed furball got up from the couch, staring at me, "Yay, well done. We just killed our first victim."

I rolled my eyes at Erza's dramatic-ness, "She won't die, she just has a dirty mind."

"Exactly," Erza yawned, stretching like a cat, "She-"

"She isn't innocent," I shot her a pointed look. Last night was comfortable. But probably because I was out cold, and gave Erza a hard-ass time.

"True," Erza smiled, "Anyway, we should head back to the peoples. We have to start heading towards the castle soon. It's going to be a long trek."

I furrowed my eyebrows, questioning, "You guys won't just like, idk, bat travel?"

"No! What the heck," Erza snorted, mocking me to the point that I wanted to be swallowed by embarrassment, "And walk into the stronghold of that dude, and get killed?"

"Hey," I argued back, "He won't kill us directly, though. Probably torture us, throw us out of a couple of windows. He needs some anger management control."

"Shut up, dork," Erza pulled on her boots, before turning the knob, and heading out. She called out behind her, "Hurry up and get dressed, Princess. You look terrible as well."

    Oh, for god's sake-

I breathed out of my mouth, placing a hand in front of my lips, and sniffed.  A second later, I gagged. She's not wrong. My breath also stinks.

"Gotta look like a snacc for Acno."
