A/N: AU. This is old! (But I've edited it).

(Edit: This is going to be a mini oneshot series. This goes off from Episode one. But no one dies. It's pretty much smooth sailing until I decide to add a little drama later on.)

...

Description: Marlon gets Louis to spill his feelings for our dear Clementine, as well as his doubts. So what else does a bestfriend do when they find out you have a crush on someone? Certainly not assign you two together, alone, for hours.

...Right?

Rating: K+ (Soon to be T because I can't contain myself, So it'll get spicy in later parts).

...

"I know that look,"

Marlon followed the gaze, trailing to their recent inhabitant—She was sat beside Violet at one of the wooden benches. From afar you could see her picturesque smile.

Which Louis couldn't keep himself from admiring—his eyes were soft as he took it in, suddenly perking up at Marlon's comment—raising his head like a confused puppy. Eyes hardening.

"What look?"

"That look," Marlon crosses his arms, eyeing the girl Louis was gawking at—"You like Clem, don't you?"

Marlon squints an eye, raising a brow as he analyzed the freckled boy who crossed his own arms, defensively. "She's a nice girl, great at what she does," Louis snuck a glance her way once more.

"You fuckin' like her," Marlon shakes his head, chuckling. "Just admit it, man,"

Louis frowns, his brows dramatically falling. "I do," he pauses, flipping through words to describe the honest mess of feelings he faced at the thought of her.

"How can I not? I mean.. look at her,"

So he does, the two glance over at the girls', deep in conversation.

"She's.." Louis sighs. "Probably out of my league,"

"You never know if you don't try," Marlon shrugs a shoulder, smirking as he nudged Louis. "Maybe she's into dumbasses who play piano,"

"Shut up," Louis nudges back Marlon pretends to be hurt, grunting in the process, attempting to hide the smirk on his face.

...

"I wonder what they're staring at,"

Violet nods to the two on the steps of the school cutting Clementine off from her speech, evidently eyeing them back, taking no shame.

"They're just checking the courtyard," Clementine shrugs, her own attention caught by AJ, who sat at a table not too far away, with Tenn.

"Or they're talking about us," Violet rests her arms on the tabletop, ignoring both Marlon and Louis's smile when catching their eye.

"More importantly, you,"

"Me?" Clementine furrows her brows, cocking her head to the side. "About AJ and I?"

"Don't know, guess we're about to find out," She watches as Marlon pats Louis's shoulder, stepping from the porch and onto the pathway to their table.

Marlon halts at the opposite end of the table, hands on his hips, a sly smirk tugging at his tight lined mouth.

"Clementine, is it alright if I pull you aside for a bit?"

Violet exchanges a puzzled glance with the girl who slides from her seat, gold eyes meeting the patient blue ones.

"Sure,"

He leads her to the gate, making short conversation as they walked. "I noticed you out there, the way you crushed those walkers," his blue eyes were striking as the sun beamed across them. He clenches is fist a praise for her work.

"It was..incredible. We need more of that."

Clementine halted at the rusted gate, along with the blonde who peered down at her, wearing a foreign expression she couldn't speculate.

"So," He shrugs his right shoulder. "I think you and Louis would make the perfect team,"

"Louis?" Clementine thought back, remembering his skill at trapping and successfully killing walkers. Multiple even. And of course his generosity toward her and AJ.

"Yeah, he and Aasim always fight like cats and dogs, I'm tired of it," Marlon tightens his lips, shuffling his hand through his choppy locks.

"And he's a great guy to have on your team, when he's doing his part, that is,"

Clementine snickered, tauntingly raising her brow. "That's fine with me," She nods, a smile spreading her lips. "Louis and I get along fine,"

Marlon nods back in agreement, biting back the grin. Knowing all to well how nervous Louis is going to be all alone with Clementine. A part of him felt bad. A very small part.

"That's perfect, Thank you," he pauses before speaking again.

"You and Louis should maybe practice together, it'd be nice to see him use another weapon other than a knife and that damn chair leg,"  Marlon shakes his head at the idea of 'chairles'—"Plus I think you could toughen him up a bit."

Clementine didn't mind the idea. In fact, she agreed. Her and Louis did make a promising team. His traps were useful and he made decent jokes to pass time.

And it helped that he was great with knocking out the dead that slipped along her blindside. She was beginning to really look forward to practicing too. Figuring it's a good idea for them both.

They begin trailing back to the tables, Marlon making short conversation revolving around Louis. Which made her curious.

"Speak of the devil," Marlon murmurs as the two stopped by the table where Tenn and AJ were, now joined by the freckled boy who wore a distasteful expression.

"Tenn my nose is not that big,"

Louis remarks, scrunching his nose in insult, immediately smiling at the sight of Clementine. Eyeing Marlon slightly when he stood beside her. The blonde giving him a brief smirk.

"What are you up to there, Goofball?"

Clementine glances over AJ's shoulder, eyes brightening at the colorful swirls on the page.

"Oh it's beautiful," she beams.

"It's for you, it's a rain...rain.."

"Rainbow," Louis corrects softly, glancing up to Clementine. "AJ here tells me he's never seen one," He adds, crossing a leg over the bench he sat on.

The way he looked over at AJ stirred a set of emotions within her—she couldn't quite pinpoint what it was, but she felt her stomach lighten, as if she were little again, riding a rollercoaster for the first time.

"So, I told him to draw one," Louis ends with a shy glance. "Here, try red," Louis steals a crimson pencil from Tenn's lineup, he shoots a quick glare at the thief who ignores the quick stare.

"I'm gonna go feed Rosie, I'll see you guys later, we're going back out to hunt," Marlon waves halfheartedly as he turned from the table.

Louis turns back to Clementine who decided to join the table. Watching AJ grind the lead against paper.

"Thanks," Clementine sat beside AJ, smiling once again. "Don't mention it,"

Louis rests his chin in his hand, watching AJ as well. Trying his best not to delve into the soft eyes of the girl on the other end.

Little did he know, he'd be spending the remainder of daylight by her side. Alone.

...
A/n: I wrote this so long ago. I actually edited this a bit as I've mentioned. Since I'm pretty used to writing Clementine and Louis now, as well as the other characters. If you'd like a part two. Let me know!
